<p>
	This release fixes some more minor imbalances, performance leaks, crashes, annoyances and other loose ends in 1.16.1. 	v1.16.0, a stable release, can now be downloaded through the <a href="https://account.vintagestory.at/" rel="external nofollow">account manager</a>.<br /><br />
	This is it community. v1.16 looks stable enough to me. There are still bugs, but I estimate there's now less than in 1.15.10. This major update contains over 300 features, tweaks and fixes. It's been quite a monumental task to get here. As always, it would not have been possible with the incredible amounts of feedback and bug reports by you, the community. I'm very grateful for your support, thank you so much! <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@14.0.2/assets/72x72/1f49a.png" class="ipsEmoji" alt="💚"><br /><br />
	The theme of this update did morph a bit during development. We originally wanted to complete some of the homesteading features that didn't make it into 1.15, but now also contains some major rework on how drifters spawn and behave as well as major changes to the games combat. While nothing is ever set in stone, I do hope these combat changes sufficiently address some of the shortcomings that a part of our community (rightfully) critized.
</p>

<p>
	Looking forward, the VS Team will focus on a new main game trailer and then begin work on 1.17. Our main topics for the next update are De-Jank and Story Content. We'd like to address some of the unintuive and half finished parts of the game and get to work on the first main story event. Definitely lots more exciting new stuff to be worked on there!<br /><br />

	Besides the usual round of fixes, we've also added a few extra creative mode blocks that felt lacking. They are essentially a subset of the current creative blocks, but light emitting. One with light level 22, and the other one with light level 4, the latter of which allows for some interesting chiseling possibilities. In total, there are 58 new creative mode light source blocks. 	For this update we wanted to complete some of features that didn't make it into 1.15 as well as a few unplanned ones. It includes several features that some of our VS Team very much has been looking forward too. I personally am very happy with the new wind sway system - its programming is now way cleaner, more powerful, and likely a tad more performant. But also visually it feels way richer. Together with the new forest floors and new mushrooms, wandering the forests now feels amazing to me. That being said, the community will be the ultimate judge of that <img alt="^_^" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="//media.vintagestory.at/emoticons/happy.png" srcset="//media.vintagestory.at/emoticons/happy@2x.png 2x" title="^_^" width="20" /><br /><br />
	Server owners will be very happy to see that one large barrier for players will soon be gone - the manual installation of mods. Highly frequented servers should now also become a lot more interesting with the addition of the auction house - as you can finally fully live out your merchant dreams.<br /><br />
	The long promised bears, despite the teams large efforts, something like in the 200 man-hour range, are still not done yet, but we hope to have some version of them until rc.1.<br /><br />

	While working on our next major update, I noticed our pretty ground fog system stopped functioning in 1.15, that with a couple other notable issues made another stable patch worthwhile. 	Oh ground fog, how I missed thee.<br /><br /><br /><strong>Chiseled Painting event results</strong><br />
	In other news, the popular community driven VS server Aura Fury ran a very fruitful chiseled painting event called “Essence and Moments of Vintage Story”. Contestants were required to create chiseled painting in survival mode with vanilla items only. They had to use their own materials, tools, and follow a set of other contest rules. 12 contestants competed for a set of prices that were to be awarded to the top two painting chosen by the judges as well as one contestant chosen by community vote as their favorite.
</p>

	The judges Ashantin, copygirl and Saraty chose Eye of the Storm by Aorsak for 1st place and Winds of Hope by Ahueono for 2nd place. Three honorable mentions in no particular order were: Every Farmland's Nightmare by Rammgirl, Hyenas by Kendi64, and The Edge of the Dragon Ruins by Arkan. The Aura Fury community voted for Risk &amp; Opportunity by Aledark as their favorite. The works turned in by everyone were astounding it was hard for both the judges and the community to decide the winners! 	Been a while since the last release. After 2 years of lock down I went to visit family and attent to personal matters abroad, which took some time. I am looking forward to a very productive winter now.
</p>

<p>
	This update fixes a number of game balance issues, improves cpu performance in some places and fixes various bugs. Most noable amongst these was issues with cave drawings, room detection, lag spikes and mob spawn caps on multiplayer servers, the ability to sell broken items to traders for profit and the ability to craft items with full durability made with near zero durability items.<br />

	We also have begun work on 1.16. We'd like to finish some of the features we started in 1.15 but couldn't complete in time. Amongst these are the fruit press, alcohol, a new creature or two, forest floors, bell peppers, and other homesteady stuff.

	This update is an attempt to fix an issue where stacks of items seemingly disappear when Shift+Left clicked away in Multiplayer. 	I believe I also manged to drastically reduce rendering and chunk loading overhead for chiseled blocks.
