Banned from the discord for 30 days for the draconian reason of "too much offtopic content and memes in #vintagestory channel"

I posted off-topic stuff in #vintagestory channel, btw it's 3:30 EST and everyone was treating vintagestory channel as offtopic so like it was whatever.
No "hey stop," just "we ban spammers," then I'm banned.
I label this as draconian and abusive.
Where do I appeal my account to be let back in because I still frequently use the discord for actual purposes.
the offtopic issue is resultant from poor server design, if offtopic channel was placed right next to vintagestory channel this would never be an issue, as the proscess of swapping between channels would be quick and effortless, however the effort of scrolling results in hesitancy and complacency.

btw attatched is the gif that got me banned pretty much.

Dear Player,

you've been warned before on January 12 about excessive posting of memes and offtopic posting in #vintagestory. We use a bot to do the warning and banning, which sends out DMs to the affected users. If you block these, then you might not have gotten that warning, unfortunately. There are also instructions in #rules-and-info as well as the VintageStory channel header to remain on topic and to keep memes to the #memes channel. You have not been singled out, other players with similar behavior have been warned and/or banned as well. The ban is not permanent, you can rejoin in 30 days.

The reason we do this is that we would like to retain #vintagestory as a place you can still have normal conversations. If thousands of users post just a handful of gifs it breaks up text flow a lot where its gets near impossible to talk to users.

It is unfortunate that you see that as draconian and abusive, it is not our intention.

Thank you for your understanding

1 warning, no information about the severity of the situation, of the punishment or the need to keep #vintagestory on topic. (Although I read the rules, I evidently forgot or overlooked this part.)
Id personally suggest a damage system, its been used to great effect in other servers.
Basic idea: offences cause damage, more or less damage for different offences, temporary, usually also followed by a mute.
This system is gentle and effective.
People flock to #vintagestory because it feels like a #general chat, also, I believe there should be a #general chat.

Also, I don't feel like this is draconian. This is the definition of draconian. A kick would have warranted the same desired result of reformation without the long-lasting bad taste and disdain invoked by a ban.
A mute would have worked, a show of force, any show of force would have worked.
Also, the layout remains... counterproductive. I wish the #offtopic chat was placed at the top as statistically that would be the most commonly used channel. I often have immense difficulty finding the #offtopic channel.

As I understand the severity now I would say I am reformed and will no longer flood #vintagestory with garbage.
30 days is a long time for something seemingly so mundane. I do not, nor will I ever, understand why people are banned for posting off-topic media to very few individuals. Surely there are gentler options that are equally, if not more effective, at generating the desired outcome.

tldr: why a 30-day ban is extreme and unnecessary. A 24-hour mute would have worked just as well.
I speak to you now, person to person. This is an absurd punishment for shitposting
