Specifically looking at a greenspire cypress at rank 1 was causing this on my server, too, and crashing the client of the player who looked, if that helps narrow it down.  Bald cypress didn't seem to cause it, but we didn't check them for a while after planting.

Currently there seems to be an issue with placing a mushroom on mushroom substrate where it crashes to desktop. Crash log below.

I am not able to replicate this crash, but I have limited the setup to the server only to help with it.

Seems like most crashes are gone with the newest update, however there is still a spot on our server that crashes people with

The termite mound spawns (in a warm climate, in this case) are a little out of control, especially for trees planted and left alone for aesthetic groves.  :(

After removing them, they pop back up in about 5-60 seconds, and keep returning even after the trees have been removed.  Thus far the only solution I've found is to ring trees with things that they can't destroy in those spaces, like ferns or berry bushes.

Termite mounds should only be able to reproduce every 24 hours, has this been happening in normal time or is time being fast forwarded?

A town on our server gets all of its trees surrounded by 8 mounds every couple of days. Something near 100 mounds that have to be cleared out from their tree farm. They re-appear at the same rate even if no mounds are present. This is under normal time as we rarely coordinate enough to sleep to speed time along.

Normal time, day length hasn't been sped up, don't generally sleep through nights.  Also found rocks sufficient to deter termites from taking a space back, which is a good enough stopgap in the mean while.

Fern spread rate also feels a bit quick, have come back to check on animals after a trader trip or mining venture only to find a lot of medium fertility soil converted back to forest floor and my wide animal pens full of ferns. Have lost a few not-tilled high fertility soils to that while in the middle of laying out new farm plots too, if I had to pause and walk away for an in-game day.  Not sure if it's wildfarming doing that, though?

Fern spread rate also feels a bit quick, have come back to check on animals after a trader trip or mining venture only to find a lot of medium fertility soil converted back to forest floor and my wide animal pens full of ferns. Have lost a few not-tilled high fertility soils to that while in the middle of laying out new farm plots too, if I had to pause and walk away for an in-game day.  Not sure if it's wildfarming doing that, though?

Termite reproduction has been removed, but they will be able to reach further trees and deal damage more frequently as a trade off

Is there any way to disable ferns from spreading or them from turning soil into forest floor? Like Iotid said we've been having a lot of issues with overspawning of ferns to the point that they flat up take over and choke out the grass and stuff. Makes it more frustrating than interesting imo.

The latest update no longer has forest floor spawning where things are planted, instead forest floor only spawns under trees when they first. I will add a config option to disable that feature altogether later. As for the ferns, if you open up the mod and go to blocktypes\wood\trunk.json, you can lower the weight of the ferns to lower\stop fern population. But I am going to implement a new setup from @Scout later once I am able to test and tweak it.

You guys got any tips for permanently removing termite nests that the previous update spawned? New ones aren't popping up by freshly grown trees but the old ones keep spawning back in still, sometimes just a couple seconds after the nest was destroyed. And I may have imagined this but I could have sworn I saw a new nest cluster spawn on top of a newly planted sapling (uprooting it in the process) near some old nests so now I'm worried that the termite menace might spread to new trees if they grow close enough.

Try turning off termites in the config, go back into the world, break nests, save and then turn termites back on.

Good day! I am faced with the problem of obtaining bundles of herbs of plants such as mint, basil, saffron, etc. In previous versions, as far as I remember, it was possible to plant these plants, there is even such a concept in the mod files (for example, block-wildplant-herb-basil). However, now I have no opportunity not to plant, no to extract seeds, nor to collect bunches of herbs. Am I doing something wrong and don't understand something, or is it a mistake and it shouldn't be like this?

Herbs have been moved to the Wildcraft mod.

Herbs have been completely removed from this mod, and Wildcraft completely redid them. You would have to ask there for this information, because I have been modding I haven't really had time to actually play this game in a while.
