l33tmaan
DOWNLOAD HERE GITHUB PATREONNOTE: PLEASE POST WHAT VERSION OF THIS MOD YOU ARE USING WHEN POSTING BUG REPORTS OR QUESTIONSTHIS MOD REQUIRES A CULINARY ARTILLERY IN ORDER TO FUNCTION! GO INSTALL IT! This is the biggest food mod Vintage Story has to offer - it adds so much extra food and ways to cook it that it basically adds an entire extra layer of complexity in the kitchen! Adds dozens of new liquids, hundreds of new items, and thousands of new recipes. Integrates with Acorns, Alchemy, Braziers, More Animals, Primitive Survival, Superfuels, & Wildcraft! Why don't you have those mods already? THIS MOD INCLUDES THE ABILITY TO MAKE BUSHMEAT MEALS, VINEGAR, AND SALT - DELETE THOSE MODS IF YOU ARE USING THIS ONE.Basic Foods Spoiler Boiled Eggs Nothing special about these, just boil an egg in the saucepan with 0.5 L of water for a quick meal.Pickled Eggs Seal some boiled eggs into a barrel with vinegar to preserve them for a while longer.Water-glassed Eggs Seal some raw eggs into a barrel with slaked lime to preserve them for a lot longer. You can re-seal them almost indefinitely. Salt Production You can seal 10 L of salt water or 5 L of brine in a barrel to create a salt crystal. After that point, the salt crystal needs to dry out, at which point it can be ground into salt! Salt gives +0.5 HP in almost all food added by this mod. Add it whenever you can! Expanded Pies Any kind of ingredient that goes into a pie can be mixed with other ingredients, PLUS you can use soft dough, acorn dough, and herbal dough as pie crusts. Dehydrated/Dried Berries Spoiler Got a bunch of berries that keep spoiling? Now you can bake them at low temperatures to preserve them! They're slightly less nutritious as a result, but last far longer than regular berries. Toss 'em into porridge for a nice breakfast meal! Add 'em to meat stews for a sweet kick! Throw them in pies! You can also take fruit mash from the press and turn them into dehydrated berries, which slowly dry into dried berries on their own. Vegetables/Mushroom Variants Spoiler Got some veggies or mushrooms that are about to go bad and you don't have a cooking pot for... whatever reason? Just toss 'em onto a firepit, the oven, or with 0.5 L of water in the saucepan! Doing so boosts their nutrition and reduces their shelf life (unless you burn them). You can chop them up with a knife to make them more edible. Also good in pies!NOTE: Whole mushrooms have to be boiled instead of baked. You can still cook them in a firepit too, but they don't like the oven. Bread Crumbs Spoiler You can grind up bread by hand or using a quern to make bread crumbs! They give massive nutrition boosts to stews and soups. Hardtack Spoiler Need a long-term form of bread preservation? Mix together flour, salt, and water to make hardtack! It lasts a long time and can be baked multiple times to make it even less edible and longer lasting! Meat Variants Spoiler Is your meat not tasty enough? No problem, just smash it with a rock to bring out its nutrition! Chopping it into bits brings out the flavor, making it even better than usual. You can even throw them into stews if you want. You can boil meat with 0.5 L of water in the saucepan. Now includes fish! Soft Bread Spoiler Bread with eggs added into them. Soft and tasty! You can even make acorn varieties, if you so choose. They can be used for pie crusts. Requires 0.1 L of egg and 0.1 L of water. Roasted Peanuts Spoiler Toss peanuts into an oven to roast them. Afterwards, they can be separated into Peanut Skins, which can be used as animal feed or fertilizer, and Peanut Kernels, which can be eaten normally or ground in a quern to make Peanut Paste.NOTE: Peanut kernels can be used in anything peanuts can. Expanded Foods Spoiler Berry Bread Spoiler Berry bread can be made by mixing some kind of flour and either water OR milk, plus berries or dried berries. You can pour syrup or honey on top of it. Candy Spoiler To make confectioneries, mix honey/syrup/peanut butter together with peanut paste or sunflower grain or acorn meal. Salt optional. Fried Meat Spoiler Mix together smashed meat, batter (such as syrup, honey, or eggs), flour, and bread crumbs, then mix oil onto it, or cook/bake it. Once done, you can pour syrup, soy sauce, or honey on top of it. Fried Veggies Spoiler Mix together whole veggies, batter (such as syrup, honey, or eggs), flour, and bread crumbs, then cook/bake. Once done, you can pour syrup, soy sauce, or honey on top of it. Fried Balls Spoiler As you may be able to guess, this needs batter (syrup, honey, or eggs), bread crumbs, and chopped food/cheese/rice/boiled eggs. It would also appear that I missed them when I was naming stuff. Whoops! Dumplings Spoiler Mix soft dough in the mixing pot. That's it. If you want something more substantial, add chopped meat or veggies. Cook or bake in the oven. Ideal in cooking pot meals. Gozinaki Spoiler Mix honey and peanuts (salt optional) in a mixing bowl to get raw gozinaki, then cook it. Mix it in the mixing bowl with syrup or honey for a sweet treat. Muffins Spoiler Muffins are made like berry bread, but made out of soft dough instead of regular dough. Pemmican Spoiler Mix together 2 meat nuggets, 1 ball of fat, and 3 berries. It's edible raw, but even better when cooked. Sausage Spoiler Mix together 1 meat nugget and 1 ball of fat. You can add cheese, if you're into that sort of thing. Hang it to dry on the meat rack to boost its nutrition even further. Good in meals, salads, and pies. You can boil sausage with 0.5 L of water in the saucepan! MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING UNAGED MEAT NUGGETS! Stuffed Pepper Spoiler Mix together 1 bell pepper and 1 portion of chopped food, grain, dried berries, or cheese. Optionally, you may bread it with honey/syrup, bread crumbs, and flour. Can be oiled or fried like other breaded foods. Sushi (Vegetarian) Spoiler Get some seaweed, grind it in a quern, form it into sheets in the crafting grid, bake it in the oven, then mix it with rice to make sushi. You can add any kind of chopped veggie and drizzle it with honey, sauce, or birch/maple syrup. Trail Mix Spoiler Mix together dried fruit, peanuts, cheese, and soybeans/jerky to make trail mix. There are 4 varieties - to make each one, simply add 1 or 2 more slots of the ingredient you want your trail mix to lean towards. Gelatin Spoiler Cook bone broth with more bones in the saucepan until you get raw gelatin, then cook that and some water to make plain gelatin. You can add juice, sauce, or syrup to instead make flavored gelatin. Syrup needs an extra portion of water, though. Lard Spoiler Render fat and water in the saucepan to make lard. It can be used as a replacement for fat AND food oil, plus it can be added in porridge to give it a fat, creamy texture. If left along long enough, it turns into Hardened Lard, which can be used for candlemaking and mechanical work. Yogurt Spoiler Boil milk in a saucepan to make pasteurized milk. Seal 1 portion of curdled milk and 4 portions of berries in a barrel to make yogurt starter. Mix together 1 liter of yogurt starter to 1 liter of pasteurized milk to make fermenting yogurt, which must be sealed in a barrel or bottle to turn into plain yogurt. Mix with syrup or honey to make flavored yogurt. New Meal Types Spoiler Au Gratin Spoiler Made by cooking cheese and milk in a cooking pot. You can add vegetables, meat, sausage, more cheese, bread crumbs, fish sauce, soy sauce, and food oil. Rice & Beans Spoiler Made by cooking rice grain and soy beans in a cooking pot. You can add everything from au gratin, which is... most things. Salad Spoiler This meal can only be made in the mixing bowl, but still requires a cooking pot. It requires 2 kinds of chopped vegetables at a minimum, but you can add cooked meat and sausage, cheese, fish sauce, soy sauce, oil, and vinegar. You can also add fried food. Yogurt Spoiler This meal can only be made in the mixing bowl, but still requires a cooking pot. It requires 0.5 L of yogurt, up to 4 portions of fruit, nuts, and syrup/gelatin/honey. Hot Pasta Spoiler This meal is made in the cooking pot out of pasta noodles and water. Pasta noodles can be made by mixing egg and flour together, then smashing it flat and cutting it into noodles. You can add herbs, meat, vegetables, oil, and sauces. Cold Pasta Spoiler Like the salad, you need to put a pot in the mixing bowl, then add boiled pasta. After that, you can add in veggies, meat, oil, fried food, sausage... almost anything the salad accepts, as a matter of fact. New Liquids Spoiler Berry Syrup & Fine Alcohol Spoiler Juice be fermented in bottles or barrels to make berry wine or boiled in a saucepan to make syrup. Wine can be used in stews or fermented into vinegar, while syrup is ideal on baked goods. Wine and brandy will now age over time, providing healing and lots of intoxication. Broth Spoiler Cook 1 liter of water per 1 bone in a saucepan. Can be used in stews and soups. If you want to make meat/vegetable/seafood broth, use 1 partially cooked food item instead of a bone. Clarified Broth Spoiler Cook bone broth with egg white at a 1:1 ratio. Can be used in stews and soups. Food Oil Spoiler Compress seeds, rice grain, flax grain, sunflower grain, peanuts, soy beans, or olives in a press. 128 grains/nuts/beans OR 32 olives makes 10 liters of oil. Can be used in stews, au gratin, and salads, or to fry food in a saucepan/cauldron. Peanut Butter Spoiler Mix together peanut paste and food oil to make peanut butter. You can also add honey/syrup and salt. Peanut Sauce Spoiler Mix together peanut paste, soy sauce, honey/syrup, and water to make peanut sauce. You can also add salt. Tree Sap/Syrup Spoiler Gather sap from a birch or maple tree, then boil it in a saucepan to make syrup. Tree syrup is good on most fried goods. Soy Sauce & Soy Milk Spoiler For soy sauce: In a barrel, soak soybeans in water, one liter of water per soybean portion. Once fully soaked, Cook over a firepit and grind in a quern to make roasted soybean powder. Mix this powder with any grain in a mixing bowl or crafting grid to make soy sauce culture and soak in 1 liter of brine. Once the final soak is done, Press the soy slurry in a fruit press to retrieve soy sauce. Soy sauce can be used in many meals or in fried goods. For soy milk: In a barrel, soak soybeans in water, one liter of water per soybean portion. Once fully soaked, place in the crafting grid to de-shell the soybeans, then mix with 1 liter of water in the crafting grid. Grind mixture in a quern to make a blended soybean mixture. Press to make raw soy milk, then Boil to make edible soy milk. Soy milk can be used as a milk replacement, if you really care about not exploiting virtual animals. Soulstorm Brew Spoiler A vile concoction made from cooked, chopped poisonous mushooms, bonemeal, saltpeter, 0.1 L of aqua vitae, and 0.1 L of green dye, then boiled with more bonemeal and distilled into the brew. It has unsurpassed healing abilities but will quickly make you so hungry you'll wish you were dead. Be careful with this stuff! Vegetable Juice Spoiler Healthy juice made by compressing vegetables in a press. 64 of the same vegetables make 10 liters of juice, which can be used in soups. Vinegar Spoiler A byproduct of leaving wine sealed for too long, vinegar does not expire and can be used in salads or for pickling foods to increase their shelf life. Compatibility Spoiler Wild FarmingNOTE: THIS MOD IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - WITHOUT IT YOU CANNOT GROW SEAWEED!AcornsNOTE: Any recipes that use flour can have acorn flour added to them. Any recipes that use bread crumbs can use acorn bread crumbs instead of regular bread crumbs. Any recipe that uses peanuts can use acorns instead. Spoiler Get some dried leached acorns and just place them in your grid to divide them into manageable portions. More AnimalsNOTE: Any recipes that use chicken eggs can use weird bird eggs instead.Primitive SurvivalNOTE: Any recipes that use meat nuggets can use crab/fish/snake nuggets instead. Fish nuggets can be added to sushi. Jerky can be used for trail mix instead of soybeans. Spoiler Fish sauce can be made by sealing fish or fish fillets in a barrel OR by using the press to compress them, which takes less time. WildcraftWildcraft fruits can do everything regular fruits can. Miner's lettuce can be used in place of cabbage in any recipe. Herbs can be added to almost any food from this mod, including all meal recipes. Usually you just need to add 1 bundle of herbs, except for Pemmican - there, 1 bundle of herbs replaces 1 fruit. WHEN IN DOUBT, CHECK THE HANDBOOK! I think I was pretty exhaustive about covering everything. I've added a lot of new food and I'd like to add more! Recommendations are encouraged.To-Do List: Add 1001 new foods, forever Add config files Edited May 17 by l33tmaan Updated some pictures 19 3 4 3

Lisabet
btw, will the herbs from the Wild Farming mod work in your au gratin?
l33tmaan
Uhhhhhh... I don't use that mod so I don't know. Probably not? It's a custom recipe so they would probably need to patch their herbs to work with it. I assume. Maybe.
jakecool19
@Lisabet I just released an update for herbs to be added to Au gratin if you install the CompatibilityLib! Also @l33tmaan I have bad news that the cooking recipe names are somewhat code based so you will not be able to add a name/naming system for it without C# code. I created a basic script for you if you want it that will at least give au gratin a name so the player is not completely clueless. All you have to do is change the mod type from "content" to "code" in the modinfo, create a src folder, and put the script in. You can name it by putting "meal-normal-augratin" in the game lang file. Sorry it is does not tell you whats in it, it is what I came up with in a few minutes. Tech_Rabbit
Heya @l33tmaan quick question. Does this make seaweed growable?
l33tmaan
Nope! I was kind of wondering if the vanilla seaweed grew back. I guess I could theoretically take a look at Wild Farming and vanilla cattails to make plantable seaweed or something, but... we'll see. If they worked like cattails where you could leave some behind and it would grow back, that'd be ideal. On the bright side, it's not like you're using it for anything else, right?
