  1. I have looked at the command list and I can use for example wiki says. /giveblock [blockcode] [quantity] [toplayername] if no player name is give supposed to give it to whoever input the command but in game it says. /giveblock [name] now what I'm having trouble with is finding a list of "names" or "blockcode" for the various blocks same with items /giveitem command. what are the codes or names or whatever is supposed to be put in that space. I can't find a comprehensible list anywhere. always finding links to mods and how to mod the game and stuff I just want to know the item list and correstponding names/codes for said blocks and items. anyone know such a list? I even went into creative to see if the creative tab gave the item ID or code name or whatever but it doesn't and I tried just putting the name of the item in like for example /giveblock Dark Mudbrick 64 and /giveblock DarkMudbrick 64 as well as /giveblock darkMudbrick 64 and in every case it says Dark not found, DarkMudbrick not found, darkMudbrick not found respectively so what do you put in the command to spawn in items? someone spawned in cranberries on a multiplayer server before. I want to spawn in some building materials to dress up spawn in a newly created world instead of marking it on a map and waiting until much later in the game to have access to the building materials. I want to play the game normally but I want to get spawn dressed up first thing so to do that I need to spawn in the blocks to build with but I can't find a list of block names or block codes or ID's or whatever it uses to spawn them in so I would appreciate some help on this matter. please, and thank you.
  2. that should answer the slab question but I would maybe make all the floor space bottom slabs not top slabs so to reflect what Streetwind said and maybe only use full blocks or top slabs where you want to place an object and hope they don't spawn on/in the object you placed there.
  3. this is good to know because I have a problem where I have farmland literally touching a water source block and it's STILL not staying 100% hydrated I still need to use watering can to keep the hydration up.
  4. maybe things have changed since this post but last I played my farmland is 21 x 7 and I've planted all 3 nutrient groups in all plots and they still haven't regenerated enough to replant they are just laying fallow for now and I have no idea how long it will take them to finally be ready and I play on 30 day months so winters going to be long. I have 3 9x9 cellars made of cobblestone with 5 air blocks between floor and ceiling with shelves on all walls and a few tables to store sealed crocks of cooked food but I'm hoping for at least another full rotation of crops before winter hits.

    Villages

I could be wrong so correct me if I am but I think villages are already on their road map of things they will/want to add eventually. just need to be patient they have a lot of stuff to work on and it doesn't all magic itself into being overnight but yeah it will be nice to see full villages at some point.
  6. I don't know about what vintage story can add to the crafting system but I'm down for a Tinkers Construct mod for Vintage Story that would be awesome. I could finally make an unbreakable tool no more going through 9 flint axes or 3 metal axes to cut down a single 2x2 tree 1 tool and done would be great or at least the tool not break until the full tree is done being chopped down.
  7. The TV I use as a monitor works just find and I can see in every other game just fine. but yeah every night it's pitch black nothing to see not even the tool in my hand but I can look up and see all the stars so obviously not a starless night. I can even see the moon at nights but other than the stars and the moon everything is pitch black. for a cave I would understand that as I mentioned before. I have settings mostly default. I turned up gamma and nothing happens so I don't bother with that anymore.
  8. yeah but breaking and going through 9 axes just to cut down 1 oak tree is stupid ridiculous. 2 maybe even 3 but 9 come on. I'm not going to run around with 10+ axes wasting all that valuable inventory space if inventory wasn't so limited or tools with max durability stacked like food when you haven't eaten any then fine that would work but that is a bit insane in my opinion just to chop down 1 2x2 tree.
  9. what kenshi mods? are you asking what ones I've made and published? if so it's just a very simple mod that someone was asking for a starting squad of like 50 skeletons so I made one for them as well as an alternate one for someone else who liked it but wanted a different starting point. I've not released anything major for it just a really simple start mod called "Nobodies Start W/50 units" they specifically wanted a different start location in the south east area of the map I think it was. south of a crab village but east of some other place I forgot but it was very simple and I almost put a lot more into it but that's all they wanted so it was pretty basic anyone could have done it but I did it for them and published it. that and an alternate start for the other persons request for the same mod. I was fully expecting more adjustments to be made but they seem to be happy with it they asked me to make a few changes that I already done and they seem to be happy with it. I've made several mods that I never published for Kenshi as well mostly for my own use like new foods new food recipes new crops new crafting buildings book research and colored lanterns a custom race with custom faction custom armor weapons and crafting recipes for them but all that I just use for my own use I've not published any of that stuff. most of it like the weapons and armor are overpowered anyway so not much people would be interested in them that's why I just use them for my own gameplay since most people want balance; A custom race with the hit points of a skeleton and a natural healing rate double that of the Shek race with no penalties like the greenlanders plus they consume only 20% of the amount of food humans do so they don't need to eat as much as well as having a very low bleed rate so they are nearly impossible to bleed out. they would heal faster than they bleed. that with armor that gives full body cover protection and 3 tiers of weapons above the Edge3 plus the race has a 20% chance to craft weapons and armor a tier above their level kinda makes it unbalanced so I just use it for myself. besides all that if I published what I use for myself it would publish all the misc experimental test mods and things I experiment with because they are all connected. I would have to remake the mod I use for myself and just add the stuff I've actually finished working on without all the testing and experimental stuff.
  10. what is TFC? I know about minecraft but not sure what TFC is. also I hear this is an easy game to mod and make custom recipes and such, could I bother someone for a link or something. I've written code for 7 days to die mods I've made, I've used the Skyrim and Kenshi Construction kits for making my own mods for their respective games. and I would like to tweak some recipes in the current game a little and add some new crafting recipes for certain things that are already in the game but only craftable after getting a saw and I feel should be craftable earlier but at a reduced output so something like planks for building for example instead of a saw to cut logs into boards and then craft boards into planks. I want to just craft planks. to make planks at half the output rate of doing so with a saw and still no boards. so I can start building right away and not need to run 10s of thousands of blocks picking up copper nuggets sparsely scattered across the map to make a pick and hammer to mine veins to spend 900 units of copper to make an anvil then a saw just so I can build with some stripped logs. *plus I want to see how hard it would be to make a free range cooking recipe so that you can add whatever food you want to a recipe for stew or soup as long as the initial ingredients are their without restricting what foods you can add to the pot. besides the initial requirements that make it a stew or soup of course.
  11. I like that you can make certain foods and I like you can make stews or soups based on the initial ingredients but you should be able to add any food item you want to any food recipe. I could see special effects for specific recipes but as for food goes. I don't see why you can't add brown mushrooms and blueberries to a meat stew as long as the first two slots are meat it shouldn't matter. same when it comes to different kinds of meats. it makes no since you can't cook with bushmeat from say wolves but you can cook with red meat from rabbits, keep in mind I have tons of red meat and no problem killing rabbits they are constantly attacking my fields and I have pleny to make meals from in one of my saves but generally I don't think it should matter. maybe certain meats cook faster than others but already the different meats have different satiation values and that is fine but I don't see why you can't make a stew with them. same when it comes to soup as long as you have the initial ingredients water and a vegetable I don't see why you can't add some berries or meat to it of any kind. also I think you should be able to add grain to foods as well. I get the whole 2 meat for meat stews and 2 vegies for vegetable stew but once you have the initial ingredients to make either stew or soup I see no reason to limit what else can be added to the meal. I would like to see the ability to add whatever you want after the initial ingredients to make the respective foods stew or soup. I don't see why you can't even just through in some cattail roots in a stew or soup as a vegetable. I cooked cattail roots early game when I can't find ripe berries and wild vegies in my immediate area.
  12. if we were talking about inside caves and such I could agree but outside not so much. I can see in the country without any street lights porch lights traffic lights or any other kinds of light on a clear night with stars visible like that and I can see perfectly fine for a reasonable distance. not as far as I can see in the day but decent enough I don't need a torch to walk through the fields at night. the stars should provide some kind of natural lighting at night so you can still see having bright stars like that is nice and pretty but if that's all you can see it makes no since to me. maybe even have moon cycles where it's even more light at night on a full moon. the only time it should be soo dark you can't see anything but absalute blackness is if your in a cave or some enclosed area with no natural lighting. it only makes since that the stars provide some kind of natural lighting at night less so when it is cloudy or raining but on a clear night you should be able to see just fine a reasonable distance. not as far as daytime of course but something.
  13. an increase in durability (if Significant based on the current durability) might work if your talking about the base Durability in the settings menu I already have durability set to 400% and it seems more reasonable but still low quality tools like flint are breaking quite frequently so perhaps and increase in Default Durability could suffice while still keeping the option to increase or decrease it as you like in settings like you can now. just make the default 100% be better I'd like 400% but that might be a bit much for some people but I could see a good compromise heading in this direction.
  14. This is not true. unless things have changed since you posted that and I played the game last night. I tried this method and it doesn't work at least not early game. you still get hit the only thing is maybe when your in water but in that case it's the same with any weapon no matter what you use. I tried killing a wolf with the copper sword early game by just holding the button down and not moving and it doesn't work. the wolf still 2 shot killed me before I killed it. not to mention wolves (for me at least) are usually found in packs even in the game. I rarely stumble across a lone wolf in the middle of the woods or anyplace else for that matter.
  15. You don't hunt those creepy hunchback grey night dwelling creatures especially the ones in caves. (drifters, I think they are called) the sword is a good weapon and I don't think it should make food go away that doesn't make any since. Just because you killed an animal with a sword or any method of killing animals actually doesn't make their skin fur meat and bones disappear. it's all still their maybe a bit more chopped up depending on method (and depending on skill of swordsmanship you could cause minimal damage to the resources) but then what if you kill it with a blunt weapon like a club your not even piercing the hide like you would with a spear or arrows yet you don't get more meat or hides for killing it with a blunt object. dead is dead. It should still have whatever it has regardless of weapon used. I think the method in which you "harvest" the animal should have more baring on what you get than how you killed it. I'm confused a little about this comment though. vvv Tony Liberatto: "I must confess I never really intended for the sword to be removed from the game." If that is indeed true why is the title literally "Remove Sword From The Game"
  16. I can't say with certainty what the OP was talking about but I had a similar issue I've only started 5 times too and only 1 of the 5 times did I find medium fertility soil without traveling over 1k blocks away from spawn. so far in fact that I got killed by some wolves and luckily I marked the medium soil on map right where I died but it was sooo far away that by time I got to it all my stuff had despawned where I died. maybe this could be fixed with something like the minecraft "graves" mod or something where your stuff is stored safely in a container and marked on map where you died automatically and never despawns no matter how long it takes you to get there. this is especially an issue if you don't know where you died. i started over a couple times because of dying and not being able to find where I was but in this specific sitution I was actually marking the medium fertility soil on the map as I got attacked by the wolves and died before i had time to do anything to fight back but I did manage to save the marker and so I know I went to where I died but again it was so far away everything despawned by time I got back to the marker. I had to cross a tiny ocean despite ocean biomes reportidly not being in the game yet.
  17. this sounds a lot like the "easy napping" post and my post there is the same as what I'll say here so I just copied it and going to past it here.... I like the napping a little bit it was interesting the first few times I did it but after breaking tools several times and constantly remaking them it has become a bit of a hassle for me a little bit. I agree. I don't think they should get rid of it at all. that being said. how about when pressing F you have an extra option "auto mode" or something. basically the same as the "copy previous layer" option but instead of copying the previous layer it does whatever is needed for the current layer. I feel this would work for everyone. I think it would keep knapping in the game let people do it 1 dot at a time if they want but also give the option to just have it done automatically but not instantly much like the "copy" mode but this would be available not just on multi tier objects like clay Knapping but would be available for all knapping so it takes the same time and still requires some interaction rather than a timer mode but gets rid of the tidium of moving each thing yourself especially after youve done it about a million times before. basically seem to be the same topic. This would also pretty much cover this but without the need of added skills and everything to. a more simplified solution.
  18. I don't know about the server thing in forest but I know there are a number of games primarily on systems like xbox and playstation where people can join a game like say minecraft without the need of a server and be able to play together. implementing something similar to this or like the forest on steam would be nice even if it's something to come out once the game is actually on steam to take advantage of that functionality. I do however believe this is simply allowing other people to join your local world and is tethered to the host. not literally tethered I hate how arc you get tethered and can't explore without going together unable to split up. but tethered in the since that it's primarily stable based on the "host" internet connection and system. if the "host" person the local game belongs to logs off or losing connection or power or something everyone is kicked out of the "server" and have to wait for the "host" to relaunch and get the game going again.
  19. I agree with this especially since the prospecting pick is OFF by default and you need to change it it settings or use commands in game then restart to activate it. I had a seed I really liked it. I got to know the game a little bit and decided ok I'm going to make a new game using the same seed.. well great except because the settings options didn't save I didn't spawn in the same world despite the seed number being the same the settings didn't save so the results of the seed were different. I think Saving world generation settings would be ideal. especially when creating a new world using same seed option the generation settings are ... well kinda important for that.
  20. at night it's impossible to see even with gamma at max, I would like to see an option in settings to adjust it so you can actually see a little bit at night and not just have a black screen with white dots in the sky at night. having a torch works great once you have one but I think an option to lighten things up a little bit would be nice. the default would of course be left the same for those who want the blackness of nothingness to consume their screen at night if they don't have torches or fires lit but a nice little option for it would be nice. I thought that's what gamma was for but gamma doesn't seem to work for me so maybe if it's broken and not working right it could be fixed but if it's working as intended then yeah I'd like on option to lighting things up a little.
  21. I like the idea of adjusting the growth time but I also think it should work the other way around too you can make them grow faster instead of taking 8 days of a 12 day season you could have them ripen and grow faster or slower your choice leaving default current growth times but the option to lengthen or shorten the time it takes them to grow.

  23. Sounds Like you all have a much better Idea than I do. I was thinking along the XNilo kinda thing. My thoughts were just a simple grass mesh make by a 3x3 filled with 2 dry grass for the mesh and 4 sticks and 4 logs for the table and could be done even without water and would work for both sand and gravel. 1 log in each corner and 2 sticks in each of the other 4 spots leaving the middle empty. total to craft table would be 4 logs and 8 sticks total to craft mesh would be 18 dry grass. this would be early game and maybe not yield special items or if so very rare and would instead produce only or mostly clay flint rocks and basic ores. I was thinking XNhilo again as far as how it works you simply place the table down place in the mesh hold a stack of sand or gravel in your hands and shift right click the mesh. would go through a single block as quickly as panning would a bowl and would just drop the resources on the floor where if you have inventory space you would pick up automatically, I have ran into a situation where I could find very little surface copper, 27 to be exact in a very large area that I searched and had no choice but to pan for copper and I rarely got copper from it I got more arrowhead than anything. I just wanted to quickly get enough ores so I could make a hammer and pick to mine veins I couldn't even get that much let alone enough to also craft a prospecting pick on top of the other 2 tools needed to mine copper veins, either that or have copper veins drop 1 or more nuggets just like you get from surface copper in addition to the ore your mining so at least you only need to get enough copper to start mining ores and you can use bits from mining to make the hammer to break down the actual ores you have collected. at the time for a temporary fix I just cranked up the surface iron frequency in the options menu but I'd rather be able to play with default setting.... speaking of the prospecting pick is OFF by default and I think it should be on by default weather it's set to 2,4,6, or 8 I don't know doesn't really matter but having it not work at all by default makes ne since to me. actually I'm thinking exactly like XNihilo IF I could port that mad from minecraft to vintage craft I would it works just fine as it is just would have to use dry grass or cattails instead of sting since you do have an abondance of spider enemies that drop string and spider eyes like you do in minecraft but you have grass I would go dry grass over cattails because it's more common and regrows faster and not as important as cattails are I already ran into a problem in my current game where I had an amazing start with mushrooms bees blueberries onions carrots and the red black and white corrent I think It's called I don't know but tons of useful stuff but no reads and I searched all the ponds in the area that show up on the map and only found enough reeds to make 3 handbaskets then I got killed by wolves because I was trying to figure out what to do about my inventory crisis and didn't know I ran into a pack of like 5 wolves and got 2 shot killed lol.
