  1. Ah, my server restarts automatically every 6 hours, so maybe that's what fixed it. At least it seems to work most of the time! I'm so happy making my OP pies again.
  2. Finally updated my server to the latest VS version with .net7 and the latest versions of ACA and EF! But... the pies are still not working. When I try to mix ingredients I still get the vanilla error message that you can't mix ingredient types. Is it known to be broken right now? Or do I have a bug? I was so excited for my chicken pot pies. EDIT: Hm... Now it's working, but I didn't change anything. Very strange! But at least I can make my delightful mixed pies again!
  3. Oh my gosh, you're a legend, thanks so much! I will definitely be testing it out plenty!
  4. I understand, and I can imagine it's very complicated to account for everything! But I do think as it stands right now, Xskills really discourages baking with the oven. Even if you're not using Expanded Foods at all, baking 4 loaves of bread in the oven takes a lot more time and effort than cooking porridge or stew in a pot, and it gives almost no XP. So it would be great if XP from baking anything in the oven got a bit of a boost. I could just make a bunch of pots of stew and porridge and level up really fast, but if I want to bake I make almost no progress. Clearly with the expanded foods stuff it's taken to an extreme, but even vanilla baking gives almost no reward compared to the time and effort required to light the oven, wait for the fire to go out, put the dough in, and watch it until it finishes so it doesn't burn. Thanks so much for considering the feedback! I'm having a lot of fun with the mod.
  5. Just to show how unbalanced the XP is for cooking at the moment, I did some cooking and baking on stream today and put together a highlight showing the entire process of making a bowl of porridge (about 3 seconds, 2.64 xp) vs how much time and effort it takes to make 4 muffins (around 6 minutes, 0.20 xp). Even with vanilla baking, it's more work to light the oven, wait for it to heat up, put in the dough, watch it to make sure it doesn't burn, and bake bread, than it is to just make a bowl of porridge or stew, so I'd recommend boosting the xp from baking in the future even for simple vanilla bread if possible. Hope this helps! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1843904091
  6. Is there any chance of a boost to xp from the oven in the future for expanded foods items? As it stands, I can make 6 servings of porridge in a cooking pot and get 2.88 points of xp, but if I make 4 muffins in the oven I only get 0.2 points. Making the porridge is literally just shift-click in the ingredients, add fuel, light, done. Finished the work in just a few seconds and I don't even have to watch it. Making the muffins is: 1) make dough by mixing flour, bone broth, oil, yeast starter, and egg in the mixing bowl (takes a while, gives no xp); 2) mix the dough with berries or candied fruit (takes the same amount of time as step 1, gives no xp); 3) put fuel in the oven, light it, wait for it to heat up (takes a while, gives no xp); 4) put the raw muffins in the oven and stand there waiting for them to bake so they don't burn (finally get 0.2 xp when they're done). The end result has taken ages to make and has far more nutrition than a bowl of porridge, yet it gives almost no xp. I've made many stacks of muffins for my server but I have fewer levels in cooking than another player who's just been making porridge and beef stew the whole time.
  7. Ah, alright, that would explain the bone broth too then - you can't consume it directly so it has no nutrition value. Well, I suppose not too many "foods" give no nutrition, so it shouldn't affect much outside of broth and dough, and since as you say those will be cooked later, they should give some xp one way or another. It's a relief to figure out what the problem is at least!
  8. Oh! Okay, so it IS working for some recipes, just not all! Making candy in the cauldron gave me XP, and putting syrup on berry bread in the mixing bowl also gave me XP. But making dough in the mixing bowl with cassava flour, yeast starter, oil, and bone broth didn't give me anything, and making bone broth in the cauldron also gave me nothing. I thought maybe the bone broth was the issue so I tried making bread with the cassava flour, yeast start, oil, and just water, but that also gave no XP.
  9. Oof.... Well, I deleted the cache folder, which took over an hour because my only access is via FTP, and.... it still doesn't work. Any other suggestions? Am I really the only one having this issue? The full list of mods I'm using is: Acorns; A Culinary Artillery; Advanced Smithing; BackpackPack Standard; Beekeeper; Better Ruins; Bonfires; Bricklayers; Immortal Butterflies; Cairns; CarryOn; QP's Chisel Tools; Copper Coldforging; Evaporite; Expanded Foods; Flint Chisel; Instruments; Less Bears; Lumber Sling; More Piles; More Roofing; More Torch Holders; More Trees More Seeds; Night Watcher; No More Drifter Throwing; Ragnaman's Seeds From Crops; Ruststones; Scarecrow; Teleportation Network; Tiered Soil; Translocator Engineering; Useful Drifter Loot; Vanilla Variants; Wildcraft; Wildcraft Trees; Wild Farming Revival; Xlib/Xskills + Wildcraft Patch; (CommonLib); (Expanded Matter) Thank you for any suggestions! I'm the main chef on my server and trying to level up cooking when the mixing bowl and cauldron don't give me xp is really slow.
  10. Version 1.18.5, yes. I do have quite a few mods on the server but I don't think any of them impact Expanded Foods. I do have Acorns and Wildcraft, which EF is compatible with, but it shouldn't affect the way EF works and I'm not even using ingredients from those mods at the moment. I've just double-checked and yes, it says "Owner" and my username in the blocks tooltip. I'd been assuming there simply wasn't compatibility with EF but it looks like there is supposed to be, so I'm confused now.
  11. Are there any known issues with Expanded Foods compatibility at the moment? I'm not getting any cooking XP from the mixing bowl or cauldron.
  12. Can you maybe share some screenshots? I don't quite follow what is happening. Normally, after you make the broth in a cauldron or saucepan, the cauldron/saucepan goes to the output slot of the fire with the broth in it. You take it out and place it on the ground somewhere, then right-click it with a container (bucket, bowl, bottle) to fill that container with the broth. Bowls and bottles hold 1 liter of liquid, and buckets hold 10 liters max. You can transfer the broth to a barrel or something using a bucket or other container if you want to re-use your cooking vessel without using all the broth. When you fill a container with broth by right-clicking the cauldron/saucepan, then left-click with the container in a slot in a cooking pot, it will transfer 10% of the container's total amount - so buckets will transfer 1 liter at a time, and bowls/bottles will transfer 0.1 liter at a time. I believe this is hardcoded into the vanilla game. Left-click to place the liquid, right-click to pick it back up. (If you're using the mixing bowl, by default left-clicking transfers the full contents of the container up to the maximum - in this case, ctrl+left-click to place just 10% at a time for more precise amounts.) Soup recipes require 1 liter of broth per serving, up to 6 liters. It's easiest to use a bucket for this so you can transfer 1 liter at a time rather than having to click 10 times with a bowl or bottle to transfer a full liter. Most expanded foods recipes require 0.1 liter of broth per serving (for example, making bread dough in the mixing bowl with broth instead of water - you need 0.1 liter of broth per 1 flour), so it's easier to use a bowl or bottle to transfer 0.1 liter at a time. If you're following the above steps and it's not allowing you to put more than 0.06 liters (60 mL) in a cooking pot at once, that sounds like some kind of weird bug. Please share some screenshots if so.
  13. Tried making a pie (1.18.5, latest of ACA and EF) and after putting meat in, it wouldn't let me add non-meat ingredients - it gave me the standard vanilla error message about how you can't mix ingredient types. Has that been changed, or is it a bug? Aside from that the mods are working great for me so far.
  14. Well, I've tested it on 1.18.3 now along with a ton of other mods, and... it works fine? At least in single player (haven't tested on a server yet). I... I have no idea why the problem on 1.17. I'm not sure when I might have time to go back and test now that I'm moving on to 1.18, but in case it helps, the list of other mods on my 1.17 server is: No Drifter Throwing, Acorns, Accessibility Tweaks, CarryOn, More Piles, More Roofing, More Torch Holders, Night Watcher, Teleportation Network, Wildcraft, Wildcraft Trees, Bricklayers, Expanded Matter, QP Chisel Tools
  15. Multiplayer on my server, survival mode, and there were indeed other mods installed (quite a few). I haven't had a chance to test it out more thoroughly yet but I'll try to do that within the next couple days and let you know what I find out. For now, if you want to see an example of this happening, there's a clip here of me showing it on a stream recently (should be queued up to the relevant part):
  16. I was sure the fruit and syrup matched and the amounts were correct, and I tested on various fruits. It did turn out that the recipe was technically working. The issue was that, after upgrading to 1.6.5, the recipe output wasn't appearing and the arrow wasn't filling to indicate that the recipe was functional and would produce a result. The only clue that it was working was that the temperature in the arrow started going up instead of staying at "cold" when heated. It is still this way. However, this was in 1.17.11 (with the last version of culinary artillery for 1.17 - not the new one for 1.18 - and expanded foods 1.6.5). I haven't tested in 1.18 yet. If you need more info I can get you some screenshots or recorded footage, and logs if you need them. Not sure if it's just a problem on 1.17, or if it's a conflict with another mod maybe? I will be testing mods for my upcoming 1.18 server soon and I'll be sure to test ACA and EF (they're my favorite mods after all!) and let you know if the issues persist. Thank you as always!
  17. More reports! The handbook says you can put peanut butter or syrup on bread, but it only works on fruit bread. I think it might be a mistake in the handbook rather than an actual bug. Also, I can't seem to find trail mix in the handbook anywhere. Making it still works if I use the recipes shown at the start of this thread, but I can't find them in-game. (By the way, I make a lot of bug reports, but I hope it's obvious that it's only because I love the mod so much I'm always playing with it! Thanks for all your hard work on this! )
  18. OKAY! After some serious testing of 1.6.5 (in 1.17.11) I have worked out that the recipes in the cauldron are NOT broken. They DO work. BUT. The recipe output text and the green progress arrow ARE broken. So if you put in the correct ingredients for any recipe in the cauldron that takes more than one slot, it will not tell you what the output is going to be, and the arrow will not fill up with green to show progress. However, you CAN tell that it is working because the temperature increases and the cauldron makes the bubbly noises and everything. This is still a real problem because there's no way of knowing how long it will take for something to cook or what temperature it actually starts cooking at. But at least it's *possible* to make candy and broth and everything. It's a very strange bug and I haven't the faintest idea what would be causing it, but if I can provide any more information that might help fix it, I'll be happy to! I haven't noticed anything unusual in the server log.
  19. I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to find phylite. It's needed for the colorful dry stone blocks but it seems impossible to find. I've traversed tens of thousands of blocks of the world, regularly digging down to check beneath any sedimentary areas I find, but I've never found a single block of it. I wish it wasn't so rare, given that you can't make one of the prettiest blocks in the game without it... And also it's such a nice color of stone for building! When I saw this thread I was hoping to find some secret tip for locating some but it sounds like it's down to sheer luck...
  20. Hrm... Actually, I'm finding other recipes that don't work either, all ones that require multiple item slots in a cauldron. Bone broth doesn't work either, and neither do breaded food items + oil. Is it possible the old bug with multiple item slots in a cauldron is back? Is that not happening to everyone? I might roll back to the previous version for now. EDIT: I'm still on VS 1.17.11 by the way, with the latest version of Expanded Foods (1.6.5). Culinary Artillery is still on 1.0.11 as well.
  21. I think all candied fruit is currently broken. Is there any chance of this being fixed anytime soon? Candied fruit was one of my favorite additions and I've just got piles of rotting fruit now.
  22. Have you installed Culinary Artillery? That's also required for this mod to work.
  23. Updated to the latest version and all the candied fruit recipes seem to be broken. I tried a few different types in both a large and small cauldron (tried both 0.1 liter of syrup per berry and 1 liter, just in case) but they didn't work. My server literally just got to berry season and I harvested like 20 stacks of cranberries to make candy.
  24. Put down bowl, hold egg in hand, and hold down ctrl+right-click for a few seconds to crack the egg. This will only get you the white or the yolk. However, you can get liquid egg (not separated) if you hold down ctrl+shift+right-click. So there's no need to mix the white and yolk together after! (It took me a while to figure this out.)
  25. Oh wow really? I assumed the seaweed sheets were added by this mod. I will have to take my complaints to Tyron then to change "firepit" to "oven" since the firepit absolutely does not work. I see the compote now, thanks. Somehow missed it when I was looking through before. And thanks for the coffee recipe! That should be fun to make
