		Tweak: Farmland now rarely grows horsetails as weeds and also recovers nutrients when dry

	The goal of version 1.7 was to add more gameplay mechanics and boy do we have lots of new gameplay. I'm still the sole programmer for all the gameplay content but nonetheless we somehow managed to cram in a huge amount of tweaks and features into this update. The trader update didn't make it, the mechanics are basically finished, but I find it needs some more balancing and also is probably better bundled with a future worldgen update. 
</p>

<p>
	We added some experimental new sounds and animations - for the spear, axe and pickaxe. These might change still if they don't feel pleasant during long-term play.

	<strong style="font-size:16px;">Pretty pictures</strong><br /><br /><strong>Animal Husbandry</strong>: Boars, Bighhorn sheep and Chicken can now be fed with Troughs, which will cause them to reproduce. Chickens will lay eggs every 8-15 days. 	<br /><strong>Improved farming</strong><span>: You're no longer need to plant besides water, you can water your farmland with a watering can, which keeps the soil moist for 24 in-game hours. Hoeing the ground is no longer instant. Added cabbage crop. 	<br /><strong>Improved bucketry: </strong>Buckets now can hold up to 10 litres of water or honey. Dough crafting recipe is now much more liberal as it is now shapeless simply consumes 1 litre of water per dough. 	I also updated a 3rd party library (with the help of <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.vintagestory.at/profile/180-stroam/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="180" href="https://www.vintagestory.at/profile/180-stroam/" rel="">@Stroam</a>), which may fix a long standing issue with memory usage slowly skyrocketing after playing for more than an hour. And maybe it also fixes the strange lag spike issue that sometimes appears when you have the block info and coordinate hud opened. 	<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Trady Vintarians</strong></span><br /><span>Version 1.6.0-rc.1, a testing release,<span> </span>is now ready for download in the </span><a href="https://account.vintagestory.at/" rel="external nofollow">account manager</a><span>.<span> </span></span><br /><br />
	This was the release to finally contain traders that spawn randomly throughout the world from which you can buy unusual items and make a buck or 2 from selling wares. Turns out my desire to create high quality content makes it <strong>explode</strong> scope-wise. I wanted that you can easily find traders once you discovered them, so I added a world map. When I started adding the world map, I came to the conclusion that all of the GUI system should be made moddable, so I did that too. After that I did manage to complete the selling/buying mechanic and the time came to add small trader stations to world generation, but those should definitely be build protected so that they can't be griefed, and hey while we're at it, let's do it properly and turn this into a land claiming system that's also available to the average player! And lastly in-between all that, let's a "small" fun feature - Weather! Turns out that is way bigger feature with huge implications on the rendering system. 
</p>

	In the meantime, Saraty did a massive overhaul of all the Seraph clothing, badly needed 2 more character slots and improved the graphics fidelity in various areas of the game. Tatazaki spurred the development of a few bugfixes and a convenient crash reporter, copygirl further stabilized our mod api, creativemd did some great work on an easy-to-use <a href="https://github.com/anegostudios/vsmodtemplate" rel="external nofollow">modding environment setup</a> (WIP) and Luke added 2 new great looking animals - the fox and hyena family! He also did a few gameplay balancing changes for which some of you might be very thankful for!

	Here's whats up since last post!

		The ReVersed festival, where we presented Vintage Story, ended last sunday, and as always, simply great for connections and socializing, not so great for sales. It lasted for 4 full days and took a few more to prepare. After the event I had a bunch of real life catching up to do and handle various health issues in my familiy, yet again. Hopefully starting from Friday I can get back into serious productiveness again. I seriously start to miss coding on the game. <br />
		 
	</li>
	<li>
		We uploaded have a pre-release version of 1.6 on discord, so for those adventurous enough checkout the #news channel. It is jam-packed with great features and I hope it won't be long anymore until we can release it as testing version. <br />
		 
	</li>
	<li>
		I also got in contact with PingPerfect, a game server hosting provider and will make some updates on the game server, which in all likelihood will result in our first consumer server service for Vintage Story \o/<br />
		 
	</li>
	<li>
		I also will get in contact with a very interesting offer from a publisher that I met during the festival, with large potentials for the future of the game, not sure how great our chances are, so keep your fingers crossed <img alt="^_^" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="//media.vintagestory.at/emoticons/happy.png" srcset="//media.vintagestory.at/emoticons/happy@2x.png 2x" title="^_^" width="20" /><br />

This was a nice opportunity for us to share the game with the public and get some valuable feedback from industry professionals as well. </span>

	<span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">Well, we realized pretty quickly that it was hard for players to just jump in and enjoy the game, since it can be a little complex. With that in mind, I’m planning to do some work to provide in-game tutorial information for new players to work off of. Hit me up on the forums or in Discord if there was any concept that tripped you up early or anything you’d like to suggest for a better new player experience.</span>

The conference attendees were generally impressed once they started</span><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"> to understand the game’s depth and detail. In particular, things like the crafting systems, worldgen, and visuals were highly praised. We had a couple level designers, animators, and 3D modelers who appreciated the potential that our creative tools and model editor offer. Beyond that, many of the players excitedly suggested that we allow for custom tools and weapons using the voxel-based crafting system. Who knows? Maybe that’s something we’ll see in the future!</span>
