IzzaFox Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 Self explanatory. been digging for a while with no rock change.
Owktree Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 Depends. Often when you hit an igneous rock (andesite, granite, peridotite) it might well be that all the way down. But not always since it might switch to another igneous type. A sedimentary rock will switch to another sedimentary rock, a metamorphic, or an igneous. Depth of a layer may vary from very few layers to many. And above surface level eroded hills can contain different rocks than the current surface strata as well. One way to see igneous rocks higher than sedimentary rocks. If basalt is around then you can get basalt and below other types of rock.
VaelophisNyx Posted January 30, 2024 Report Posted January 30, 2024 iirc, vanilla rock strata octaves are 32 blocks deep minimum, though I do think at the edges if it overlaps a different region it is allowed to thin out in the overlap
