Trouble Using World Backup on MacOS

I recently created a backup of my primary Vintage Story world on my Mac, but I can't figure out how to use the backup inside of VintageStory. Trying to open the backup by double-clicking says that there is no application set to open the document, and attempting to set VintageStory as the applicable application is not possible, with the game being greyed out. 

Given how relatively recently Vintage Story has been made available on Mac, I've been unable to find a source of insight on the subject.

Any help is appreciated.

I think you manually change the extension of the backup file, but I'm not sure if I've actually tried this.

Thank you! While changing the extension did not work, it did lead me to find that my backups and Vintagestorydatafolder were hidden in .config.

I've got backups working. Thanks again for your input!
