.Net 7 installed but not detected by Vintagestory.exe, `dotnet .\Vintagestory.dll` works fine

Hi all, im pretty new but I'm thoroughly enjoying the game. I'm slightly frustrated however because the exe won't launch the game and I have to use the terminal and the `dotnet` command to launch it via the dll..
I've installed just about 8 different versions of the .Net Runtime between 7.0.0 and 7.0.20 but ever time I launch the exe it can't find a runtime. the suggestion to run the game via the `dotnet` command to get more information just results int eh game running perfectly normally with no errors in the console.

I'm on windows 11 and I *do* have a fair bit of dev software installed so something might be messing with the environment. any suggestions on where to continue looking for a solution?
