Alex Greene Posted March 15, 2025 Report Posted March 15, 2025 The ability to export something like a .XML file containing the seed and set world config values to allow people to generate identical copies of a world without needing to manually configure world generation and simulation values (climates, height, etc.) would be great. Would prevent issues where certain configs were missed, resulting in generation that isn't identical.
wasa Posted March 15, 2025 Report Posted March 15, 2025 This is kinda implemented but its not documented at all, on existing worlds you can click the pencil icon to the right, and copy the playstyle via the copy button from that menu, then when you go to creating a new world you can CTRL + V to paste the playstyle when on the customize menu. Though its worth mentioning not all things are seed dependent, i.e. the most known is ores will generate differently even on a world with the exact same playstyle and seed, so no two worlds will ever be exactly identical. 1
