Strange water behavior

I noticed some strange behavior of the water. If you remove an origin block adjacent to water, water flows into the empty space. thats ok. If you place a block in the water and than remove it again the empty space stays empty, no water is floating into it and the adjacent waterblock acts like a wall.

since this is something that should get fixed. A workaround - if you really want to remove these empty spaces in lakes etc would be, to place a block right next to it and click on its surface (the one that directs to the empty space) with water in your hands.
