Taart Posted August 3, 2025 Report Posted August 3, 2025 (edited) Port is open, 42420 is open on tcp and udp ive troubleshot a minecraft server (25565) and that works fine, no issues on there. But, vintage story keeps saying 42420 is closed, local ipv4 works but only on host machine, LAN does not work on connecting devices to the same router. Trying to host from ingame by opening to LAN fails to find upnp and says "Internet hosting failed" turning on advertise says the same thing, server does not show up in server list I have tailscale and a vpn but the connection is running though my wifi I've been trying many other various things for the past 2 hours I have no idea what else i could do, I've looked around and nobody seems to be having the same issue. Taart Posted August 4, 2025 Author Report Posted August 4, 2025 trying again today, i found the upnp option in my routers settings today, upnp option on the sevrer works now but it did not fix it

TheAdmin43 Posted September 12, 2025 Report Posted September 12, 2025 (edited) got some news for you @Taart you'll need to allow "Vintage story Standalone Server" through your PC's Firewall i thought it was there by default due to the numerous Vintage Story app that were allowed on mine but they changed the app name for the server app for that you go into your settings > Firewall & Network protection > Allow an app through firewall >change settings > allow another app hope this helps you like it did for me btw you dont need upnp, its off on my router Edited September 12, 2025 by TheAdmin43
