Patchy Climate Scale Option

I really enjoy the patchy climate world generation option. Not knowing what to expect when traveling in a random direction. For me it's a deeper feeling of discovery and wonder. Unfortunately I often come across small enough strips or patches of a climate that just seems out of place due to how small it seems to be. Standing in the middle of a desert seeing tundras to one side. Tropical rain forests to the other and a lush green boreal forest to the third. I often don't see the point in building in a more hostile environment when there are so much better options just some steps ahead.

I like getting lost in a biome. A desert with no end in sight. Sprawling forests with endless trees with branches that seem to never wanna let me escape. Wide tundras that offer a wide and bleak look at the road that is still in front of me.
Not constantly changing climates every two to five minutes of travel.

That's why i really enjoyed the bigger biomes option Minecraft had to offer.
While I don't believe that everybody would enjoy a larger patchy climate generation, I still believe that, especially with how incredibly customizable this lovely game already is, an additional option for choosing bigger climate generation sizes in the world generation would find the joy of quite a few like minded players. As far as I know the realistic climate distribution already kind of has this kind of option with the ''Polar-Equator distance'' setting. I'd love to see a similar option for the patchy climate generation option. Simply to upscale the noisemap used to generate the climate for the world. (I assume a noisemap is used for stuff like this, please correct me if I'm wrong)

An option for bigger biomes, more distance between extreme climates and a chance to get lost in each one of them.


But what do you think? Do you like the current patchy climate generation? Should it be bigger, smaller? Is it just right? What do you enjoy about this different kind of generation?
Please tell me if there is a hidden option to change the generated size of the patchy climate if there is any. Maybe I'm just blind.
