Understanding the new world configurations?

I'm trying to figure out what the new world configuration changes mean. As someone new to the game with less than 100 hours, I was hoping to create a world map with several small continent-sized landmasses and lots of archipelagos. However, with the new changes, I'm back to square one. I only want to adjust the continent, island, and ocean ratio, but I'm not getting good results. I understand that each iteration of the settings will produce a different world; I'm just looking for general guidance on the settings numbers or ratios.I appreciate any help. Same here I keep getting either survival islands or just big lakes
