Settlement Restrictions (Biome Locks) • Seraphs (all available classes) • Biome: Islands only (maritime). • Special: Only race that can trade with all factions. • Role: Diplomats, traders, messengers, maybe even mercenaries. • Balance: Cannot expand inland → they stay small but essential. • Dwarves (Hill & Mountain) • Biome: Snowcapped mountains. • Trade: Only with Seraphs + Humans. • Role: Metalworkers, smiths, builders. • Balance: Slow surface movement, but the best miners/smiths. • Elves (Forestborn, High, Duskborn, Drow) • Biome: Redwood forests, or lakeside forests. • Trade: Only with Humans + Seraphs. • Role: Gatherables, bow making. • Balance: High agility/speed, but armor-weak → need allies. • Goblins (Brute Gifted, Scrawny, Crazy, Bungleborn) • Biome: Swamps or caves near forests. • Trade: Only with Orcs + Seraphs (no outsiders). • Role: Gadgeteers, scavengers, raiders. • Balance: Squishy in combat but dangerous at raiding. • Humans (Ranger, Brute, Vagabond, Exploder) • Biome: Plains, valleys, hills. • Trade: With Seraphs, Dwarves, Elves. • Role: Generalists, adaptable → “middlemen” in politics. • Balance: Not the strongest race, but strategically positioned. • Orcs (Stonecrusher, Glutton Orc) • Biome: Gravel/sandy wastelands, volcanic zones, able to claim and inhabit ruins anywhere. • Trade: With Goblins + Seraphs. • Role: Raiders, brute warriors, fortress builders. • Balance: Extremely strong but resource-hungry → need Goblin/Seraph trade. ⸻ 2. Trade & Diplomacy Rules • No Free Global Economy → must follow faction rules. • Trade Hubs: Neutral Seraph-run markets on islands where factions can meet. • Black Markets: Optional rule where players can sneak goods illegally (risky). • Diplomacy System: • Alliances: can be created at cost of 150 gears, peace is 20 gears. • Wars: declared publicly and via Cam Claims (Discord). • Raiding: only on special “raid windows” to keep balance. ⸻ 3. PvP & Territory • Encroachment Ban → you can’t settle in another faction’s biome. • Raids allowed, but with limits. • Cities can be founded by anyone for 50 gears, more players you have, more land you can claim. • Neutral Zones: Seraph islands are always safe zones for all factions. ⸻ 4. Events & Progression TBD • Seasonal Wars: Every few months, all factions allowed large-scale campaigns. • Mods can create an event where your city can get raided by drifters (spawned in by admin/moderator). New & returning players, please read: Whitelist is ON Join our Discord, then request access in #vintage-story-join. Game version: Vintage Story 1.21.0 (Stable) Starter Kit Use /starterkit` in-game to claim 1× Temporal Gears (one time per player), 10x Rusty Gears, 1x Torch, 2x Flint. Economy (CAN Economy) Currency is rusty gears. `/balance` – check bank balance `/deposit` – deposit the gears you are holding `/withdraw <amount>` – withdraw gears from bank > Tip: keep at least 2 gears in your inventory for teleport costs; bank the rest. Homes You may set 1 home: `/home set <name>` Teleport home with `/home <name>` — costs 2 rusty gears (taken from your inventory) Teleports Global teleports like `/spawn`, `/back`, `/rtp`, `t2p` are **disabled** for now. And hopefully soon we will be getting a massive hardware update. Will be able to handle 100 players soon. Also we should be coming out of winter soon.

I don't see why anyone would object to an atheist or agnostic community when those are already in the considerable majority in the gaming world, and often assumed by default. The lack of objection for a Christian server does feel oddly surprising for that reason but then again, I've noticed a relative absence of toxicity in the Vintage Story gamer world. Here’s a concise roundup of what’s new, what changed, and what you should do when joining. Headliners New Version: Server updated to Vintage Story v1.21.5. New Systems: GlooMeRaces + GlooMeClasses (fantasy races and about 17 classes). Combat Overhaul (hitboxes, parry/block, armor coverage, weapon changes). XSkills (open with G; set GUI Scale = 11 so the menu fits). PvP Consent Returns: Ana’s Flag of War — all PvP is opt-in only. Immersion Additions: Footprints (track animals and players), Real Smoke (build real chimneys; QP chiseled chimneys work), Tule Redone (reed baskets, rope, etc.). Worldgen Safety: You can now plant jungle saplings without breaking worldgen. Removed: Old Seraph race system (Seraph is considered Human now). PvP (Consent-Only) Three ways to fight—both sides must consent: /pvp on -> Flag yourself for FFA (90s cooldown before /pvp off) /pvp duel -> 1v1 duel /pvp battle -> Team battle by shared password Races & Classes (quick view) Dwarves: Smith, Miner, Mason, Oathkeeper Elves: Hunter, Homesteader, Alchemyst, Chef, Artisan Goblins: Malefactor, Alchemyst, Mystic, Clockmaker Humans: Commoner, Mason, Tailor, Merchant, Homesteader, Artisan Orcs: Blackguard, Lumberjack, Oathkeeper Each class has unique perks and drawbacks; trade and teamwork are encouraged. XSkills (progression) Press G to open the skills menu and set GUI Scale = 11 in Options. Gain XP by doing; spend points on abilities (mining, farming, combat, etc.). Real Smoke + Chiseled Chimneys Indoor fires and forges need ventilation or they’ll snuff out. Chimneys work (including QP chisel chimney blocks). Build flues and vents. Footprints Animals and players leave tracks on soft ground for several in-game hours. Great for hunting and tracking—can be disabled client-side if you prefer.
