skoove Posted September 15, 2025 Report Posted September 15, 2025 as it currently is, long chat messages can be *really* hard to read, especially when there are several walls of text from different people in a row, i see a few options 1. Colour the messages differently 2. Add a small gap between speakers 3. add a line between speakers 4. alternating opacity background for each speaker (not each message) 2
Never Jhonsen Posted September 15, 2025 Report Posted September 15, 2025 Having an alternating opacity background would make it easier to read However, I think a two-toned background per message is the way to go, as the scaling of per-speaker would get out of hand quickly on multiplayer servers. 75 differently colored but still readable backgrounds would get hectic real fast 1
ikexplosion Posted September 15, 2025 Report Posted September 15, 2025 Also, if you are in a big server, having the ability to personally color code certain players to quickly know who's talking would be nice too. Like if you and a few others are in a group on the server, you would know whenever one of your "teammates" would message in the chat. 1
katomaro Posted November 10, 2025 Report Posted November 10, 2025 I am thorn between this. Gap and alternating opacity are great, but colors seems too much of an stretch, maybe not for everyone but rather a friends system. I am visually impaired and having colors would allow me to quickly know whos saying what
