How can I melt meteoric iron

Hi. How can I melt meteoric iron? I got the bloomery, I placed two pieces m.i. In it, I can't place either any charcoal nor any brown coal. The m.i. needs 1400 C to melt, coal only heats up to 1300 C. Is there any other fuel needed? Thanks

You should be able to use charcoal, a bloomery is designed to push temperatures beyond what is normally possible. I did this in 1.12.6 so it should still work.
