Ink & Quill

I love writing my own story in-game with books and ink&quill, but it is a bit inconvenient to use.

You cannot store the i&q near a book naturally and have to place it awkwardly nearby on other surfaces.

I'd like to see/suggest the following changes, since i&q takes 1/4th of a block if placed on the ground anyway:

- You can put i&q at the top of the bookshelf (left/right)

- You can put i&q in front of the bookshelf (left/right)

- You can put i&q inside the bookshelf (takes 1 or 2 "book-spaces")

Also, it is not possible to just read the book if you have ink&quill equipped. You have to unequip it, then read (often for formatting), reequip it, and then continue writing.

I too, love to write stories in my game, little one or two page tidbits of things that have happened in my worlds.

And I too, suffer with having my Ink in a different location. Here's a photo from my attachments, used it in a different thread once before. I have a table in my bedroom just for the ink bottle, to keep it off the floor (Wouldn't want to spill my ink on the ground tripping over it).

I would LOVE to sit it on a shelf. It's fit with the aesthetic vibes, and also keep everything in the same place

I do have this mod installed, and while I haven't tried to see if the ink bottle is compatible with it, it is a mod I love just for the bookshelf aesthetics.

Ground storage is a wonderful feature about this game that I love, but I wish I could have Ground storage detect a partial block underneath it, and allow itself to compensate for that. Here is another old photo in my attachments:

A nice shelf in my Library, big enough for 1/2 a ground storage spot

 . .. which was a hassle to set up. You can not create ground storage on a block that does not have a full top to it. I had to place a full block above my shelves, start a ground storage spot, then pile blocks all around it so that, when breaking that full block the Ground Storage spot is on, will cause it to fall onto my shelf (Ground Storage has gravity).

Now, it will stay as a G/S as long as I keep at least one item inside it. You can do the same for your bookshelf, but A.) you need to keep at least one other item in it so that your Ink bottle can be removed, and B.) all 4 storage spots are still there, meaning you may accidentally place your ink bottle in one of the two floating spots.

Anyways, to back up what you said; ink bottle management kinds stinks, it*d be nice to allow it to integrate onto a bookshelf
