LAN party issues

I'm curious to see if anyone else had ran into this issue and how the fixed it. my girlfriend is trying to join my world through LAN. We followed the steps, and it links but its stuck-on start saying 0 kilobytes received. Does anyone know what the issue could be? thank you for your insight!

I have the same probleme woth my friend. We live in the same appartement on the same box and we can't play together in lan for the same reason and i don't undewrstand because on minecraft we don't have problem

so she had a macbook and it just didnt have enough power to run vintage story so i bought her a new laptop and i havent had any problems since then
