this is my frist actual build that isnt a small dirt hovel to hide in, as a new player! its not the best but it works! i also have a small farm going which im happy with

 

any tips for building to give to a newer player?

Classic.

If you put rammed earth into crafting grid, you can cycle between patterns.

Also use support beam to make a detail on a building. It's gonna make building so much alive. Just a simple medieval house pattern would suffice.

(Also support beams could be little bit tricky to place and destroy. Remember that the actual beam itself is always at the almost exact place you placed it. Also it does not show when you are holding a support beam so try holding blocks to locate the location to find the source placement.)

OMG YES ive seen support beams used before in VS videos on youtube i need to check them out i completely forgot about those thanks!!!
