My suggestion is to bridge Matrix (secure, free and open source decentralized communication protocol. see more at https://matrix.org) server with discord community (thanks to `mautrix-discord` bridge). For me personally having only discord is a big disadvantage as I cannot access real-time communication with community. I opted out of big tech software long ago.
