while attempting a chandelier i found that torch holders placed on chiseled blocks require some pixels of the original outer block face. makes sense but it seems that the east facing side of the block requires a 2 pixel wider attachment sadly that makes the mount point larger than the torch holder and ugly. it is an issue that doesn't happen on the other faces so i gather its a bug. but i would also suggest a tweak to off center placement on lamps to allow for the same attempted chandeliers. they cannot be placed on these mounts even though they have a "smaller footprint"

I can't seem to notice the stated problem in that screenshot, but if it's actually there, then that seems like a bug which you might want to report on the issue tracker.

plus why can i put 4 bowls side by side on a block but not 4 lamps made from the 4 bowls?

This functionality is being added in 1.22.
