Yukiya Kitsu Nebi Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 Making shingles can be one of the most time consuming and frustrating/boring things despite it being one of the most simplistic shapes out there. I've seen a few very old posts with a similar idea but no recent ones discussing this and they didn't get much interaction. Please add a stamp you can make to cut out the base form of the shingles from clay. You still have to place clay down (which can be done fast with the 3x3 mode for efficiency at the cost of some clay being lost). But you can cut out the shapes all at once instead of one voxel at a time. Or perhaps a press where you can press things like clay into shape Both you have to be able to carve the shape into wood which requires at least copper age, and for the latter you need to be able to make wooden gears. And like mentioned, you could have it cost more clay for the sake of efficiency (aside from the required materials for crafting). To make it even more realistic, maybe have the stamp or press have durability that needs replacing or you might need to fill in one or 2 voxels that might've not gotten filled properly. You could also do the same for bricks (which for some reason don't have to be clay formed but crafted through the inventory?). And maybe to smooth it out you have to use an extra tool to smoothen it out like a rib tool / clay knife? Lastly, this would only apply to simple shapes, so wouldn't work for something like a watering can or a vase.
