I wanted to try making something a little bit more involved for my second go at modding, and this is what I landed on. The mod adds turpentine as a new distillable liquid, plus several related items and recipes to give turpentine some interesting and practical gameplay uses.

The most notable uses of turpentine are definitely 1. crafting mortar without lime (which can be a real pain to find on some maps) and 2. improving the preservative effect of storage vessels via the application of fungicide.

This mod adds Turpentine as a new distilled fluid, along with some related items and recipes. All additions are based in historical applications of turpentine.

- Turpentine is obtained by first mixing resin and water in a barrel to produce Crude Turpentine, then distilling crude turpentine. Turpentine distillation is done via the same distilling equipment and process as alcohol.

- Fungicide is a new item obtained by combining turpentine with any clay in the crafting grid. Fungicide can be applied to storage vessels with shift and right click to treat them. This will modify the container's perish speed for stored food, applying a 0.75x multiplier to perish rate (equates to a 25% time extension). This effect eventually wears off after some time, but it can be renewed by applying more fungicide.

- Plant Mash is a new material obtained by grinding various plant items in a quern. Grindable plant items include fruits, vegetables, seeds, and flowers. Turpentine can be combined with plant mash in a barrel as an alternative recipe for mortar. (This recipe is based on Vajralepa mortar.)

- Camphine is a new liquid obtained by mixing turpentine and quicklime in a barrel. Camphine is accepted as an alternative to fat or oil when crafting an oil lamp.

- Turpentine can also be combined with a residue-covered cooking pot in the crafting grid to clean it and obtain a regular clean cooking pot again.
