Sokolov Posted June 28 Report Posted June 28 (edited) Welcome to ‘Kingdoms & Clans’ season one! A modded hardcore-roleplay, survival and nation-building community! Introduce yourself on our little discord ! → https://discord.gg/nVzwUz244 THE SETTING The world is a low-fantasy, medieval setting consisting of two custom-made continents: Karna and Oros. The map is 8000 x 8000 to facilitate a smaller player population, ensuring communities come in contact with each other and interact (trade, war, diplomacy, etc). The continents are populated by four playable races: humans, dwarves, goblins and orcs. There is no vanilla lore content enabled, all history has been made collectively by the players. THE VISION Play your part on the continents! Create your character and find your clan! Build up a homestead and work with other players to make towns or even nations. Forge a realm, organize a guild, participate in the player-run economy and be a part of history! The aim is for each character to belong to at least one settlement, and for these settlements to be part of a greater, interconnected system of clans, kingdoms, empires and cultures! (Hint: make sure when you are building, you are also worldbuilding!) WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR The world is still young and the majority of the Continents are unclaimed! We need builders and leaders who want to take up the mantle of establishing settlements and creating young nations to enrich the world. If you join now you can easily become a chieftain and carve out a territory for your very own clan. We also need people to populate these settlements, and give life to the cities and countryside. If you want to roleplay a craftsman, a farmer, an explorer, an alchemist or a warrior (just some examples of the possibilities) this world has a place for you! The citizens that have taken up these roles so far receive plenty of work running little shops or homesteads and playing integral parts in the economy. SETTLEMENTS Settlements are classified broadly into three different ranks, to help with mapping, nation-building and server cohesion. Players can (and often should) be citizens of multiple settlements! RANK I - HOMESTEAD A small holding, typically with only one or two citizens. These types of settlements may exist on the periphery of larger settlements or be independent. RANK II - TOWN Medium sized settlements that contain two or more citizens. Towns must have a tavern to congregate in, a mill, and a few other amenities to qualify! Towns appear on the official map as political entities. RANK III - CITY Cities are the ultimate expression of your people’s culture, the seat of power for a nation or the heart of your clan! They require at least three citizens and a designated ‘leader’ character. They will usually contain markets, a temple, a palace or even a forum building. NATIONS & EMPIRES A nation is a political entity (such as a monarchy, republic or theocracy) that contains at least one city and two towns connected by roads. Nations in ‘Kingdoms & Clans’ get certain roleplay benefits and prestige items (such as an uncraftable Crown for monarchies or a miracle for theocracies). An Empire is a type of nation that has conquered or built at least 3 Cities! Empire’s earn an honored place in history - and additional benefits and prestige for their achievement. INCREASED CHALLENGES The server has increased difficulty, crops grow slower and take up more nutrients. Natural HP regen is slow, prompting use of poultices and alcohol (now with an HP regen effect) - encouraging players to congregate in taverns and giving a useful purpose for brewing alcohol. HP and satiety loss from dying is also increased. Edited July 1 by Sokolov
