I am begging the developers to please provide a way to reset the journal (either in the form of a console command or some other method). There are console commands for some of the most obscure things, but not one for this. Wiping all player data via the "/player [playername] wipedata" command does not reset the journal, because the journal information is not classed as player data.

Even a mod that allowed one to do this would be a lifesaver, if someone wanted to make one.

I have searched extensively for a solution, but the only thing I've found is this Reddit post from 3 years ago of someone having the exact same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageStory/comments/17eczg5/command_to_reset_journal/

Try this one, and reload the server after you do so to reload the now-empty data:

/debug alllore clear

Note that this command was added two years ago in January 2024, so it wasn't a thing when that Reddit post was made.

FYI, you can search for commands in the command handbook accessible from the pause menu while in creative mode. Searching for "lore" or "journal" would have allowed you to find it quickly.

I don't seem to have this command for some reason. When I try to run it, it asks me to choose a subcommand. When I type "/help debug," it isn't listed in the list of available commands. When I search for it in the Command Handbook using the keyword "lore," it doesn't show up.

I am on version 1.22.3. Do you have any idea why I don't have this command?

I even tried disabling all of my mods, in case one of them was somehow removing that command. No luck. Even with no mods enabled, I still don't have the command.

Oh. That's probably because I've compiled a Debug configuration, and for some reason the command isn't available normally. That's my bad. I'll see if I can whip up a mod that will do the same.

See if this works - the same command, just implemented through a mod: https://mods.vintagestory.at/loredebugcommands.

Do keep in mind that since those are technically debug commands and I haven't tested them extensively, there's no guarantee that they will cause no issues - /debug alllore clear should be safe since it just clears all data, but I'm not as confident about /debug alllore.

Okay, thank you for making this. I just tested out the alllore clear command, and it worked. Additionally, I was able to add the same lore back after clearing it (by reading the books again). So at the very least, clearing the lore doesn't seem to obviously break the ability to gain lore again.
