COMMANDER_GEB Posted July 16 Report Posted July 16 I have just been playing Rimworld SOOOOO much recently and i have been wanting to see if anyone else here plays it and what mods do you use and not like Combat Extended or like some other VERY popular ones. also I wanna hear any tips for base building
Facethief Posted July 18 Report Posted July 18 I play a bit. Honestly, mods kill Rimworld for me like they do for TOBG, as sometimes it feels like I spend more time browsing mods than playing.
Hallowate Posted July 20 Report Posted July 20 I play with Dead Man's Switch because I really enjoy the Biotech Mechanitor mechanics. Other than that I dont add any more major content mods or else I scroll the steam workshop for 90% of the time I play.

If you find the base game enjoyable then I recommend getting all of the expansion packs as they add so much to the game that I can't even think about going back to just playing the base game without them, though if you plan on getting the expansion packs one at a time, Anomaly can be the last one you purchase as it doesn't add as much to the gameplay compared to ther others. In regards to mods, my mod list might not be up to your tastes as we might have different playstyles. However I will name the few mods that is often always in my mod lists. I like to use facial Animation, hairs and body by UNAGI because I want my pawns to look visibly different as they often all wear the same style of clothing, Auto links, IVF Equality (Biotech needed), Family Relations: Adoption, Talking Isn't Everything, No Job Authors, [FSF] No Default Shelf Storage, Interaction Bubbles, Romance On The Rim, Bad Can Be Good (Continued), Build From Inventory - Continued, I Miss My Limbs (Continued), Kidnapped Pawns Die Less, I will be back, Ugly together (best used if you have Biotech) , Yehoria's Better Hand Genes (Biotech needed) and More Injuries (Continued) (Will lead to more pawn death and injuries if you aren't properly prepared, not something I would recommned for newcomers but you can use Life Support Continued [1.1+] to make it a bit easier). I recommend looking through Mr. Samuel Streamers workshop collection such as Rimworld: Bare Essentials Pack Collection, Graphics & UI Upgrade Pack Collection and 1.6 Foundation Pack Collection. I have a few more mods that I didn't name as I went over his collection and choosed what I liked and needed. For gameplay tips, I highly recommend you sort out your colony's storage straight away and optimise it so a pawn doesn't need to walk to the otherside of the base for items they need for crafting/cooking and eating. If you have a big colony then have a dedicated pawn whose job is mostly cleaning as cleanliness is important to ward of food poisoning and infections, though if you do have Biotech then the children can do it.
