Return Again.. --- The Journey of the Midlands is a modded fantasy RP server intended for 18+ individuals with a hard capacity of 32 players, intended to provide players with opportunities and settings to tell stories of their own. Our gameworld operates on a slower timescale than standard -- each standard day is roughly 180 minutes, or 3 hours, w/ months being set to 30 days each. This is intended to slow down gameplay and allow people to step away from the game for extended periods without years zipping by. Planned Launch Date: August 7th Why 18+? Roleplaying elements are not always PG-13 -- to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all server member, we will strictly enforce our 18+ policy. THE GOAL Why choose us? My goal as a host is to provide an environment in which players feel safe and comfortable to create, share, and participate in stories while playing the game of Vintage Story. The game is very entertaining by itself, and I would like to incorporate roleplaying elements similar to tabletop roleplaying games. Players might choose to live in one of the three pre-established settlements as a member of their community, or to join a sect of religious scholars set on uncovering every ruin our ancestors left behind, or simply might elect to be an adventurer and focus on exploring the untamed wilderness of the world. Whatever your ideal role or choice might be, it is our aim to provide an environment for you to explore, develop, and share what you make. At the end of the day, we play Vintage Story! THE SETTING "Who am I? Where am I?" Players will step into the lives of the survivors of the Temporal apocalypse, hearing the summonings of the Temporal Court. Your background, however, is your story to tell.. the world has been broken and scattered and remade, allowing players open-ended agency in writing their backstories. Seraphs have been touched by something we understand little about, and many are changed.. the many races of the land who have returned again all answer to the name, Seraph. We reside within the Midlands, a simple umbrella term for every bit of land, ocean, and sky in this realm. This place is largely unspoiled by sentient hands, and although the Oldlands have been left behind and forgotten with time's unwinding, their ruins and archeological sites they have left behind remain. The Lore of Vintage Story is largely still in place with mild alterations, allowing players to engage in open-ended storytelling to make their own characters and backgrounds. "Who are you?" We are the Temporal Court, the admins and mods keeping things running on the technical side. We subscribe to THE GOAL and to maintain the rules and upkeep of the server. Current Launch Date: August 7th --- Notable Things: This server is considered a cooperative effort; there will be permanent PvP zones established down the line, however, one should largely come into the server expecting to work together with other players rather than in a competitive manner.
