Mod idea number 1: Hearth and Home
- The point of this mod is to add fireplaces of different sizes (a 1 block, a 2x2, a 2x3) meant to be in a wall that works similar to the current firepit, but the main difference is that it is craftable from stone or clay brick. These fireplaces can warm rooms of different sizes based the size of the fireplace itself.
- Adding wood ash, a fine powder collectable from the fireplaces where firewood was used for fuel. Wood ash can mixed with water to make a lye solution (perhaps called "caustic water" or "soda lye" so people don't confuse it with lime water) which can then be added to a cooking pot with lumps of fat to make soap, which can be used to remove dyes from dyeable items. Wood ash can also be used as a fertilizer to add Potassium (K) to soil.
- maybe a way to connect multiple firepits into a singular hearth
Mod idea 2: Carpentry
- The idea of this mod is to add a bunch of wooden items and carpentry tools like lathes and draw knives.
- compatibility with mods like Toolsmith, adding turned handles as an option for tools.
- a Carpenter or Logger class that improves mining speed of trees/logs.
- a draw knife replaces the hammer and axe combo to debark logs and can debark one side of a log at a time. Toying with adding in barks for each kind of tree to use as firepit fuel, or letting the draw knife be used to make logs that can leak resin when used on pine and acacia trees.
What do y'all think? Any thoughts or suggestions for either of these?
