  1. So, I've no idea what is going on but I stored up a ton of food for the winter in crocks, only to discover that half of it spoiled as soon as I touched it.  For example, one crock pot/jar said it had 20 days left, but as soon as I picked it up it was spoiled.  I went through and "touched" the rest of my supply to see half the food turned into rot and the other half with very little time remaining other than the sealed crocks.  However, the sealed crocks first said like "2.2 years" or something but when I touched them they turned to "1.3 years".

What is going on?  Is this a bug?

    Hello everyone, first forum post.
After having bought the game just recently I was having a hard time in the start, even after managing to get the hang of the hunger system I was constantly being ambushed by random wolves and bears, one time even while being inside a trader wagon and a bear just mauled me the minute I stepped out.

After fighting the urge to request a refund I did some looking around in forum guides (trying to stay spoiler free) and I changed just one thing in world customization: Increased my starting health.

Now i'm 4 hours in a new world and just made my first copper tool and i'm quite intrigued by what's to come.

This one change negates the frustration from being 360 no scoped by a wolf that you never heard or saw, while not removing any of the difficulty or danger.

Highly recommend this to new players!

It is very interesting to me how much things can vary starting out.  In my current main world, I pretty much have no dangerous animals.  Maybe the occasional wolf but, rarely.  It does sound exciting to plan for expeditions to unknown lands with dangerous creatures!

  3. Words cannot describe how much fun I've been having this game.  IMHO the survival game concept hasn't really evolved much in the past 10 or so years; it's just stagnated.  Sure we had little changes here and there...but no one really evolved it to the next logical steps...  Minecraft never went where I thought it was going to go (maybe due to Microsoft) and just became a "kids" game.  Ugh.  The only other survival game that is enjoyable to me is 7 Days to Die primary for the destruction and structural integrity stuff.  Then I found Vintage Story about a week ago.  Holy ****.   VS is basically EVERYTHING I've been wanting from this kind genre since around 10 years ago.  Scratching an itch that I've had for so long it isn't even funny.  The only thing I hate is that I didn't find it sooner.  I am having a freaking blast!  I'll save you all from me going on and on about how much I love it... haha.

I'm sure others have said it, but big thanks for the dev's for VS.  Going to be buying some copies for some of the guys here soon and spreading the word.

It would be lovely to see a game motivation for making alcohol. The mechanic for doing it is lovely. There's just no reason to do it beyond roleplaying.

Perhaps if we went the "viking" route?  The idea of drinking a bit before a battle to push through pain a bit.  I think in 7 Days to Die being sightly drunk increased your hand to hand and increased your resistance to stun.  So maybe if it increased damage BUT at some kind of cost... Like if it made your character a bit harder to control.
