As Thorfinn stated, patch version increments are forward compatible. They're used for fixing critical bugs and improving security, so you want to stay on the most recent version.

I'm running the client on Windows and server on Linux using version 7.0.9 without any issues.

I'm also interested in this. Hosting servers using .NET 7 is easier due to the dependencies needed on Linux.
