For most mod creators such a tool wouldn't make creating mods easier, having a GUI based approach is simply just often slower than editing a JSON file. Furthermore, editing JSON files isn't really coding but more like editing a configuration file, it's a data format and not a programming language. So a "VSCreator" wouldn't really be that helpful in my opinion, as it would only be a differently formatted text editior opening the right json files for the things you want to add/change, just another json viewer/editor, something that already exists. Also, MCreator wasn't a great success or useful tool for existing modders either, as there wasn't any mildly successful or unique mod created with it. The resources that would need to be allocated to creating such a program would be much better spend on creating more content for the game.

So, if you want to mod, learn the JSON format and experiment by editing the games json files, consult the wiki and ask for help on the Discord if needed.

I feel like what would also be important is more clarity within the files themselves. I wanted to make wolves less aggressive or stop them from attacking entirely but wasn't able to figure out how to do this as what some of the values actually do are unclear, and especially what the limits are for those values (would my game break if I set this value to a negative number?). This also occurs in this post.

If he once did the serverspawnhere command in previous game... it will modify the future game he creates and mess up the value where he spawn. it's true for the X, Y and Z.

I'd look at his serverconfig file.

I did change the spawn point, yes. Did not know about it potentially modifying future [new] games, though.

Yes indeed, sorry for the late reply, getting lots of support requests

Gotcha-This save is (quite a few) days after the grace timer issue came up so not exactly sure how much things have changed. My dumb-ness didn't think to grab the log files associated with the play-through that created the issue before we played additional sessions, so I, unfortunately, do not have them. LINK

Don't mind the save name lmao

hm. Thanks for the files. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the issue yet. When I load your world I seem to spawn correctly above ground.

It seems to be an intermittent bug. I'll keep an eye on it

Thanks for the reply. As for the temporal storm issue, it continues to reliably occur when I select 10-20 days between storms (1.13.3). Not sure about other settings. I get resulting values between 30 and 50 days, usually in the low 40s.

  5. Date: 9/5/20

    Server: Single-player Survival

    Server version: 1.13.2 (Stable)

Server Creation & Age: 1.13.2 (Stable), and newly started game (less than 1 day).

    Enabled Mods: None

Made a new world for fun, changing quite a few of the default parameters during world creation. I am confused when I spawn in and it is completely dark. I switch to creative mode and I realize I'm at least 5 blocks underground as there is stone all around me. Not very good for a survival playthrough!
Also, I have my world config set to 10-20 days between temporal storms, but the game tells me that it'll be 41 days until the first storm. Very strange.

I've provided logs and the associated save file (pretty sure it's the vcdbs file...) inside a mediafire zip and hope they will be of use. Let me know if the download somehow breaks. LINK

  6. Because we do have a room-based system with the cellar and greenhouse, we could try artificial heating via a firepit, heater, etc which would raise the ambient temperature and possibly enable faster crop growth? Of course this would utilize fuel unless we unlock other power methods at some point. Just food for thought.

  7. Date: 8/29/2020

Server: Multiplayer Survival (LAN > Private Internet)

    Server version: 1.13.1 (Stable)

Server Creation & Age: 1.12.14 (Stable), and 10 days into the game.

    Mods: Silo, xSkills, Graves

Immediately after remapping the world for the update, this message appears:

"Over 26 days left before monsters begin to appear."

We can't get monsters to spawn. I have tried /worldconfig graceTimer 0 and 1. I have restarted multiple times after using this command both in single and multiplayer. It still continues to maintain 26 days. The value simply will not change (except through spending time in the game). Hovering over the world save shows that its grace timer is set to 1 day (the last value I tried), but the game still wants to take 26 days. I don't think that the mods would interfere with this config issue even if they were removed. Is there another command that I have yet to try? Please help.

Edit: Temporal Storms cause any drifters that spawn to flicker and appear somewhat transparent.

A few other issues: It does not show when it is snowing, but snow simply appears on the ground (Edit: Snowfall appearing now. May have just been the map updating, post-patch). You can also jump over fences if the block you stand on has snow on it. Big Horn Sheep can escape 1-block high fences if there is snow on the ground. The moon shows during the day and either is gone at night or already halfway in the sky as soon as the sun sets. The sun rises in the south and sets in the north.
