  1. I feel like this game would REALLY benefit a health system overhaul. I got mauled to death, in 2 hits, from full health, by a FOX. Meanwhile, if I were to try to kill that fox with a spear, it'd likely take more than 2 hits. I'm honestly, HONESTLY surprised this game, with its focus on realistic survival, has such a clunky, game-style raw number HP health system, and not something robust and debuff-based like The Long Dark. In TLD, getting attacked by a wolf doesn't kill you (unless you're already severely wounded), but rather, the wounds that the wolf gives you is what kills you, or debuffs you to cause something else to be your death. The animals in TLD also aren't psychotic bloodthirsty killers - when a fight happens, and they get injured, they RUN AWAY. I know this might not always be the case, like with a bear, or a wolf/pig protecting its young, but otherwise, it shouldn't always a fight to the death, they should have self-preservation. But that also leads into another point about Vintage Story that bothers me - hunting. There's no wounding of animals when you're hunting, you just have to keep throwing damage at them and make sure you don't lose sight of them, otherwise they're fine and you lost all that effort. In TLD, you shoot a deer, it runs off, but it leaves drops of blood to track. And if wounded enough, it will bleed out and collapse. I'm really hoping the devs rework these systems, because they're probably my least favorite part of this game. Like, I actively avoid hunting, for how annoying it is to keep track of what you're chasing, with no ACTUAL method of tracking them like with blood or footprints. And as for combat, I just avoid it entirely and disable monster spawning. It's far too punishing, too quickly. Just two bites from a FOX and I'm 5000 blocks away from where I was.
