well, thanks for the solution, i have better firepit mod installed in the time i was asking this, i asked because im just curious about why the mechanic is there

is this a bug or intentionally designed game mechanic? having this issue a long long time ago and this is common enough to not ignore, and is yet putting me off because without the mod that is making this "feature" off, calcifying flint is a torture and wasting too much charcoal.
