  1. I did not, I am still getting used to the game so sometimes the different mechanics can be confusing, but I do understand what you are saying. I will try the next time I play.
  2. I am trying to create a cooking pot. I have been able to make other molds and pottery with no issue but for some reason I am unable to pick up a cooking pot after it is created. The clay forming process went as expected. Once the item was completed the game exits the forming process automatically, and then normally you would pick up the items to fire them. For some reason I am unable to pick up raw cooking pots. I made 2 to make sure I did not do something wrong and neither can be picked up. Just prior I made a bowl and was able to pick that up with no issue. I will post a video later if needed. I made an animated gif but it is too big to post here.
  3. When I went to build the pit kiln after only using the handbook I thought it only needed 2 dry grass based on the prompt and the handbook info. When you add the grass the number does not change after adding the first one, so I was confused (It takes 2 dry grass out of your inventory for each click, but I did not see this the first few times using a pit kiln). I added the second dry grass and the prompt again did not change. If I did not have more dry grass, I would have through that something was broken. Having more dry grass I just kept adding. The same thing happens with the sticks. The game makes it seam as if I only need 2 dry grass and does not mention layers of dry grass or sticks. The fuel, for me was firewood so it was easier to tell how many would be needed do to the placement. I have not tried other fuel so I do not know if this applies to other fuel, but even on your screen shot for fuel it does not indicate the amount needed. I like to know the full receipt before building something. So the information from the wiki would be helpful. 10 dry grass: 5 layers of dry grass, 2 grass per layer. 8 sticks: 2 layers of sticks, 4 sticks per layer 4-8 pieces of fuel. Note that your choice of fuel directly affects how long the pit kiln takes to finish. Lastly, I think this information is important to add to the handbook. A pit kiln is created by digging a hole 1 block deep surrounded by full blocks that are non-flammable. If you try to add tinder to a pit bordering a block that's flammable (such as peat), or that is less-than-full (such as a path block).
  4. A page that is dragged out would not have the pause option and the game would not pause unless the handbook is open again. As a new user I am just spending tons of time in the handbook and not "really" playing. I know over time I will learn, and not need this but as a new player it would be helpful.
  5. This suggestion it's a little hard to explain, so I'm going to list the steps to repeat the issue that I'd like to see fixed. Recreate issue Open the handbook. Select movable from the handbook options dropdown Move the handbook window to another area of the screen. Click on the Guides tab Now this Window returns to the fixed location not the location the window was moved to in step 3. The options drop down indicates "movable". Close the handbook Reopen the handbook The window is in the position it was moved to in step 3. Click on the Guides tab The guides page is now in the moved window position, as in step 3 and step 6, unlike the first time opening the guides tab in step 4. Click on any page in the guides tab Now this Window returns to the fixed location not the location the window was moved to in step 3. Click the Block and Item tab the window moves back to the position set in step 3. Select any block or item in the Handbook The page moves back to the fixed position. What I end up getting is pages jumping all over the window and the settings are a little less than intuitive. Suggestions There are 3 suggestion here that I believe will help, but I know this sort of thing is subjective. First. It is difficult to tell what option is set between Fixed and Movable. When you open the option drop down, if you move your mouse even 1 pixel the highlighting changes to "fixed" and it was hard to tell what the current setting is. It would help if the highlighting would not change until the mouse was click instead of on hover. or add radio button to the options. Second. My expectation was that all pages, tabs, and pages within the tab would open in the position the window was moved to, not jump between movable and fixed and each tab and page have its own position.. Alternatively each tab could have a variable position, but if that is the case, pages opened within that tab should be in the same location as the tab. Lastly. Include an option in the drop down to reset the window positions for all windows to the default fixed position. To get all pages back to "normal" I have to click on each tab, and click fixed and then click on a page within that tab and change it to fixed as well.
  6. I promise, I did search the forum to see if my suggestions had been suggested previously to try to limit duplicates. I would love to be able to drag a "page" out of the handbook and be able to keep it on screen, while keeping the handbook open to look up other pages. Alternatively, Include a Handbook Tab that a shows a history of the pages visited and the order visited to easily return to a previous page. Second alternative would be a bookmarks tab to the handbook, which I did see recommended before.
  7. In game; the handbook and on screen information, is lacking on how to build and use the Pit Kiln. I understand that on screen information space is limited, but the information that is displayed on screen is limited in its helpfulness and even a little confusing. The information in the handbook is very lacking. Consider readdressing the onscreen information for the Pit Kiln taking a new users perspective into account. For the handbook consider adding the information on the Pit kiln wiki page (https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Pit_kiln) specifically the materials and steps section of the page. I do understand that it is hard to include everything, but as a new player, I am spending a lot of time in the wiki, tabbing back and forth, instead of using the handbook.
  8. I'm new to Vintage Story and I am loving it. I have told all my gaming friends about it. I just happened to run across a video that mentioned it and visited the website to get more information. With that said. I think it would be good to have a link from the in game mod manager back to the mods VSModDB web page. I believe this information is in the modinfo.json so it should not be that difficult. But I'm sure you have plenty to do.
