Hey man I love the mod! I was wondering if you could add these things from Conquest Reforged:

Rope fences

Animal hide rack

Shelves

Meats and plants on hooks

Lumber 2x Tall fences

Wicker fence 1

Wicker fence 2

Log retaining wall

Diagonal support beams for roofs

I love the idea on swapping compost as well as a compost bed. Corner stairs and cobblestone walls which allow grass to grow underneath are welcome too, those would be nice additions. I also think an agricultural trader is needed with so many plants. I started in a temperate spawn travelled 30k blocks to get to the tropics for tropical plants like soybeans, bamboo, papyrus, kapok, etc. Having a trader who can circumvent that would be great albeit the cost of items would be expensive. Lastly, I agree on hoes, you build and forget them. Having a continued use would be great if its not a micromanaging chore. 

Better archery mod sounds like what you need, it boosts the bow damage, durability and reduces the chance of arrows breaking:

I agree with Saricane that your better off exploring. I did the same thing as you, going to put to specifically search for it but never found it until I did regular exploring and came across it. Now I have more than I need. Medium fertility soil is not bad, you may use that until you run across it. Also, it’s definitely spawnable in a temperate or even dry area, because that’s where I found mine, not in the tropics.

I suggest you install the braziers mod and install a few around the castle for a constant hear buff. Besides that you could only move your castle/build to a warmer location with the in-game world edit.

VSprospector info - this mod saves prospecting pickaxe reading for the area you’ve used it in via an transparent intrusive overlay on the map. Normally you have to write it down, remember somehow or use the pick multiple times. This is a must have.

Braziers - this adds a cheap lighting solution which can be built from metal scraps which otherwise don’t have a use in game right now

Craft clothing - you may expect you can make your own cloths but you can’t so pick up this mod. Clothing is very important for cold winters if you’re playing in a temperate or northern area.

Brown Shingles = Fire Clay Shingle (Slab, Stairs & Block) + Brown Coal

Red Shingles = Fire Clay Shingle (Slab, Stairs & Block) + Cinnabar

Hello, please make a version where drifters aren’t completely removed. Kindly allow them to only spawn during a temporal storm and when temporal stability is very low.

This is neat, I’ll check it out. I’m hoping we get something like Millenaire or Tektopia soon. I’m teaching myself how to do it but it won’t see the light of days for now...

I apologize for the late response, I've had pc issues and I have been busy with college.

I choose homesteading because I like collecting stuff like the crops, flowers and animals it’d bring so it’s an obvious choice for me. I just hope the new stuff will be interesting and purposeful towards gameplay and not for the save of collecting. Additionally, I’m really hoping that we’ll see mounts to ease the burden of travelling far distances given the new incentive of more stuff to collect and explore new frontiers.
 

A nice touch would be to be able to set your mount to follow path blocks in your road network or a marked location on your map. That be more immersive than just fast travel. I’d also like to see more hostile animals like bears, leopards and lions. I prefer those over stuff like drifters for realism.
 

My second option would be the lovecraftian stuff given it’d have more stuff to collect, though, better terrain in regains to river and oceans would be nice.

Hey folks. I’ve started a silent play through of Vintage Story. Why silent? Well I want to do something unique in that I focus on showcasing gameplay through the various  tech ages and to immerse the viewer in the game world without it chatter. Moreover, I couldn’t do commentary now because I don’t have a decent mic. 
 

Gameplay is paced to flesh out the various concepts in game with the addition of some quality of life mods without deviating from the vanilla experience. Also, I’ve included the seed which is great in my opinion. It was created in 1.14 and has every resource you’d need in the immediate area around spawn and a nice view. If you’d like the seed check out the video description. Alternatively, I’ve saved a game world which you may download and add to your save folder to play it.
