  1. Vintage Story has totally re-worked my brain when it comes to these types of games. What do you mean I can't chisel blocks, I have to build with actual squares??? Where's the clay to knap my moulds??? Mine and melt and make, what wizardry is this? And, what is this magical wizardry to begin with??

All aside, I think they're different enough in so many ways that they compliment each other without stepping over each other, and that suits me fine.

I've seen this and it is a bit off topic for this post but I have noticed the content of it changed. In the past (pre second chapter) I would find books and lanterns, and some other items of "greater value". I have went trough 2 stacks of bony soil and found just one book, two pieces of bronze chain and rest were arrow tips, bones, and the low potential gems. I feel like it is not worth it past really first stages of the game.

Sometimes you're just at home, it's a cold winter's day and you're tired of pounding metal and your cellar is full of crock-pots brimming with those goodies you've grown the previous fall. With cold, wet wool boots, utilizing the little sunlight we get mid-Jan, I like to stand and just sift all the boney dirt I've gathered in my previous travels and stacked near my boat dock. I've gotten gold crowns, lots of shiny gems that I can trade to various traders, occasional lit candles (what, how? Magic, they be MAGIC I tell ya!), sometimes a waterlogged book with a story still legible. It's just a good downtime activity when you simply aren't in the mood to do anything else and have already run and bounced around your home too many times to count.

  3. Hi all.

I've always been a huge proponent of picking up bony soil when i find it, and panning it when I'm waiting on something, or during the winter when I'm not waiting on crops, or just need a calm easy thing to do. Lately though, I've gone through a bunch of blocks and found almost nothing, not even bones. I just panned 5 blocks, not one item. This has changed drastically from a few months ago, and I've looked through the devlog to see if they reduced drop-chance of items, but I can't find anything.

Is anyone else having the same issue, or has info on an actual change in the drop-chance that I might have missed? Shame if such a fun "never know what chu gonna get" isn't as fun anymore. Is this perchance a bug, though I also checked on  the bug report page and saw nothing there either.

    Cheers!

One of these days I'm going to make it my goal to uncover the entire map.

That's a goal of mine, too.... on a MUCH smaller world. Like, 10K blocks, just to see how dramatic and drastic biomes and such change, creating one now until the new update is released as stable.

  5. Sometimes, it's okay to take a break. I'm looking forward to the next stable update as I want to create a heavy-sea/many-island smaller customized world, so I'm taking a break from playing until it's released. I'm a newish player, but have sunk over 200 hours in so far as this is my go-to game right now, I'm a builder and collector so really excited about the new blocks and decorative options. That being said, I'm REALLY looking forward to the update, so no rush but the sooner the better, Tyron 🐻‍❄️

  6. Okay, I chose flax alt, but my second choice would be tea/coffee. I'd be all over the process of growing, picking, drying in bundles, grinding and steeping tea.

Cotton would be an interesting alternative crop to flax, maybe utilizing it to make cushions and carpets of our own. Add a loom and allow us to dye spools of thread to put together in different patterns.

  7. Add one more notch for fishing options/enhancements, as I can easily spend hours casting and seeing what goodies I can bring up from ponds, pools and the seas.

Also, as a builder/collector... sorry, hoarder... I'd love more display cases/shelves/racks. Ones that hang on the wall, where I can display my butterfly collections, or a hat-stand for all my beloved but never worn hats. Weapon racks that proudly display just one item, that I can put above my fireplace. Clothing stands that can display more than armor, as having my pretty wearable goodies stored in chests just makes me sad. Adding a personal loot museum to my base would be a welcome addition!

I use a handful of mods which helps with some of the above, but would love to see more of this kind of thing in the base game.
