  1. If you pause for an extended time, you will be respawned, that is not clear in the online docs. I do not find any reason in the logs. Reproduce it? That would require I pause the game and wait an extended period of time for it to respawn. I'll just quit and restart the game and only use the pause function for short periods of time. Calling people Looney Tunes is not necessary. Long live VS!
  2. I will no longer use pause. Instead, just quit. I have paused in single player and, after an extended period of time, I have respawned with no explanation in the logs. I am convinced that there is a pause timeout. The VS developers should have been clearer about this.
  3. Sometimes I think I have paused the game, but then find I have died. There is nothing wrong with the game but the senile player. LOL
  4. My biggest problem with VS, sometimes I stop playing (for some outside distraction) and I forget to pause or quit the game, I die from hunger. I wish there was a timer setting that would quit the game after a certain amount of time of no activity. I can understand why this is an unreasonable suggestion. This is one of the main reason I die. I have played (single player) homo sapien for almost 1300 hours, and I am still in copper, so I am not the smartest player! But I obviously like the game.
  5. At first, I thought I had forgotten to pause the game. But this has happened numerous times after ensuring the game had been paused. When I reported this and other problems to Vintage Story support and send logs, I never hear back. Great game, too bad customer support sucks. Don't encourage users to report issues, if you're not going to follow-up. Time to find another game!
  6. It was my mouse. Interesting, I didn't know a defective mouse could cause a PC to quit responding. Just thankful that it wasn't a north Korean hacker. But everyone knows south Korean hackers are ok, but I doubt there are any of those.
  7. Here is my memory: Total Physical Memory: 32,509 MB Available Physical Memory: 25,675 MB Virtual Memory: Max Size: 34,557 MB Virtual Memory: Available: 27,000 MB Virtual Memory: In Use: 7,557 MB I believe there is something wrong with my computer. Please disregard my posts for now until I figure it out.
  8. Didn't change any world generation settings. I don't use a boat or raft, I swim. I can see the shore, but I never get there. My PC should not have problem with high graphic settings. I'm having the same issue just trying to use this forum. This is too much trouble just to play an already difficult video game. VS encourages posting concerns or issues in their discussion groups, but when I do, I get the impression they don't care.
  9. Now I am getting slow or no response from anything I try to do. Among many, one example is trying to open or close reed baskets. Also having the same issues trying to use this forum. Don't know if it's issues with my pc, network or Vintage Story. This didn't happen before I installed the latest release 1.21.1. This game is tough enough as is, but I'm considering not playing anymore, which is sad because I really like VS, but I'm starting to think I'm wasting my time.
  10. When on large bodies of water, sometimes I can't get back on land and appear to be struck offshore. I've read that VS does not have tides. Is it a temporal storm? What am I missing? Sometimes I am killed by another player, but I play standalone. I never see any other players. Also, I get requests to allows LAN players, does this mean I'm making it a LAN game? What don't I understand? Sometimes the game freezes. A rotating circle appears. Usually starts working again after a minute or so. But sometimes I have to restart the game. Just things I have noticed. I haven't analyzed the logs, the game is enough of a challenge. Not a big deal. I obviously like VS, I've played over 780 hours.
  11. I agree completely. It was just something I noticed. A bear attack is much more exciting than someone freezing to death.
  12. Yes, Vintage Story is a video game. Guess I'm just frustrated because I keep getting killed by bears in the middle of winter, which is tough enough without bears. I thought this game was trying to be representative of the real world.
  13. If I wanted to start an atheist or agnostic community, I wonder if I would receive any objections. I haven't seen any about this thread.
  14. Why are bears out in the middle of the winter? Bears hibernate during the winter.
  15. I understand when playing online (multiple players) the need for security. I'm playing strictly standalone. I understand having to log on to prove you own the game, but other than that, I don't understand the need for security. I'm not struggling to play VS, just complaining like a 75-year-old. I like VS, just trying to understand. Obviously, I'm in over my head!
  16. The designers of computer/cell phone games have made games difficult to use because of security concerns. I am constantly encountering this for games that allow different configurations. I am always asked for password words and user ids. If you don't have that information, you are sent down the rabbit hole. Apps are written for cell phones and don't always work well with for PCs. Why anyone would prefer a cell phone over a PC, to play games, is a mystery to me. Security is not an issue for console games. I should have stayed with consoles. Security concerns have taken over our society. I love Vintage Story and the ability to use different configurations, but security issues are ruining it for me.
  17. The only use for zinc is Dyes. Finding and processing it, is too time-consuming for the benefit.
  18. I thought it was too difficult, even returned it once. Changed my mind, I've now played more than 400 hrs on Homo sapiens. I'm a slow learner.
  19. I started playing about 3 months ago and find this topic relevant. I have played over 300 hours both Standard and Homo sapiens. I don't why I have spent some much time playing this game. It's too complicated for my small brain. It takes way too long to accomplish anything. Nights and winter are too long. Great game if you like to watch paint dry.
  20. Ok, found it: /kill .....simple....don't usually use commands "/"
  21. I agree, food is all around and many other options. I don't need your lecture on how to play the game. I don't like getting stuck and just sit there waiting to die. Why can't I just kill myself. I want to play the game and just not sit and stare at the screen, trying endless options that don't work!
  22. The game is far too complicated for a low intelligent person like my self. I spend all of my time waiting for the night or winter to end, even then, I can't find food. Spending 100+ hours to accomplish the most basic tasks is not my idea of fun. Fortunately, it's not expensive, but neither is spending time with my dog and that is much more rewarding. .
