After a bit of testing, the quenching works as described, but if I don't quench an item, then I can no longer craft it at all.

Tried with the iron hammer head and axe head, both wouldn't craft into tools (after cooling down below 200 degrees) without quenching them.

Thanks Jake! I'll give that a shot. On a side note, I think it would be really cool if I could quench things in a water barrel.

Can't get the quenching to work... tried a barrel full of water and a bucket of water? Tried using it in the crafting grid with the bucket of water even... nothing worke... CTRL+CLICK, SHIFT+CLICK, nope.

What am I missing here?

Yah thats the one thing that makes these tools actually kind of useless in some cases.  Always have to keep a steel axe on me anyways.

Really hope that gets changed at some point.
