I wish that I could be of more help. I might be wrong but off of the top of my head, it's probably a corrupted file or configuration that is left behind when you uninstall the game, that's why when you uninstall and reinstall the game it doesn't fix anything. What I would do is uninstall vintage story, find and delete all files that are left behind, and reinstall. I wish I could tell you which files or where they are but hopefully you can get it to work. Me and my friend have been trying to set up a Vintage Story server so we can play together but nothing is going our way. Super frustrating. 1. I live in NA southwest so official server hosting is off the table because it is based in Europe. 2. Every vintage story server host like bisect and some other ones have been unplayable even with the more expensive tiers. 3. Self managed OVH dedicated servers offered the best performance but their data centers are either super far in Oregon or in the east coast so me and my friends get pretty high ping. 4. Hosting at home was possible but not that great because I am playing the game and hosting on the same computer. Same problem with using hamachi. 5. Hard to find a company to host my server. Either really bad hardware that costs 50 - 100 a month. Or good/decent hardware for like 200 a month+. There is not a middle ground. I think I am going to give up and just play on LAN unless anyone has any server hosting recommendations.

Same here I keep getting either survival islands or just big lakes
