Hello people!, first post here. :)
And i wish to share a funny story with you.
I'm kinda "new" to VS (meaning i get obsessed in the first 2 hours of a world until i reach copper age, before deciding i want to make a new one). So i don't really know if this is a common occurrence.
Having said that, THIS time was different... 21 Hours deep into my wilderness survival world, my ego and pride were feeling pretty good having returned home after hunting 5 bears in a row, survived the horrors of a big cave system & taking a few temporal gears with me as souvenirs.
On the way back home, i tried to "think" of better ways i could prepare myself for the upcoming winter.
"It's been 2 days since i left, hopefully my chickens finally managed to hatch those eggs they've been taking care of."
"God they take so long to raise... And like can you not freak out every time i breathe 10m away from you.?"
"Maybe i should get some goats, they eat grass n' stuff, i could save all that grain to myself... Maybe next year, winter's getting too close."
But you see... While i was indulging in little adventures like: hunting bears or making 50L worth of Rye Ale in my basement,
I never took a few minutes to build a roof for the chicken coop back at home.
"Ehh i'll get around to it- LOL i can't wait to get drunk when these barrels are done."
So imagine my surprise when after 2 days of being away from home, i find my chickens ALL of them (8) dead on that unroofed coop... WIPED by lightning strikes.
At first i laughed because it didn't even crossed my mind that.. That was remotely possible.
And after a sec or two, i realized that i had no livestock for the winter just because i didn't built a simple roof.
My ignorance and neglect towards those poor chickens might be my demise.
Moral of the story... Have some sort of human decency to build your animals a nice shelter, don't be like me lol.
Ty for reading, this game is truly amazing.
(Edit: I just realized i posted under "creative endeavors" please don't yell at me)
