Hey, thanks! The building wasn't the problem, so I have no idea if this played a part in it. I think I was falling forward onto the ground in front of the ladder because the opening is two blocks wide and the ladder seems to take up one block. At least that was my impression.

Hello, and thanks! No, there's nothing special, I was just trying to build a little cellar in my mud hut. I've found a workaround by making two ladders with a little platform in between so I fall into the second ladder, but I just wanted to know if there's something I just don't understand about how ladders work. Crouching, you say? I must try that, thanks!

Hi, Can someone explain how you climb down ladders without taking fall damage?

I think I logged out and in again, but I'm not sure.

I copied this into chat but it didn't work. I had a storm and was killed a couple of times because my spawn was in the middle of a group of mobs and then I was at the original spawn again.

Hello, The other day I got a temporal gear when I was looking for copper (I'm still in the stone age, first time player). I looked it up and it said that I could use it to create a new spawn point, but it didn't mention that there was a limited number of uses. I'm still in winter/early spring and waiting for berries to arrive so I'm basically dying every day from hunger, and when I saw this message after spawning I was a little bummed because I would have waited for spring if I had known that. Is there a way to move your spawn point permanently? Winter makes it very hard because once I run to my base from spawn my hunger bar is basically empty again. Thanks!

Thanks. I only just started playing and I don't want to move too far from spawn because I keep dying to wolves and bears (and now also hunger because I started playing without the tutorial).

Hello and thanks. I do use the mouse with the left hand, yes. But I've changed the keys for some chat actions now, hopefully that was the problem. Unfortunately, I can't even tell you what they were because I don't have an English keyboard layout and things like / are often different. When I press Tab it removes the 'target description' though it seems? The text that shows up when you target something? I have tried that but I don't think it closed the chat box, I may have to try it again.

Thank you! I try to stay away from too much information at the moment (my time in Minecraft was before recipe books) and just see how far I get. I have no mods or watched/read any tutorials or anything and didn't even know there were these supernatural elements in the game, but I already noticed something going on with time before that just because something seemed odd. The only thing I remember from world creation was something about ruins. My main problem was really the chat popups during fights because they caused me to die and I had to run back all the way from spawn. It would definitely be nice to be able to disable that.

Hey, I just started playing VS a couple of days ago and I'd just like to know if I can keep the chatbox from appearing all the time? I died a couple of times because I accidentally started typing in chat when it popped up. It also doesn't seem to serve any purpose in single player, does it? I tried to check and uncheck the button in the settings that says something about chat but it doesn't seem to help either way. I'm trying to stay away from spoilers so I don't dare look at the Wiki.
