I came back to Vintage Story after an absence and have been running the various 1.18 rc builds, am downloading official stable release now and really really happy with it!  Enjoying all the new WorldGen options and the worlds look great!   It also runs great on our older Win7 computers!     (yeah yeah, I know. We will be getting new Win11 systems late this year but meantime its running great on our older Win7 systems...)

No, its not mods,  from the issue tracker on this it seems none of us can start a new world, default settings, singleplayer, no mods, fresh install. Just never gets past loading screen.

EDIT: the new 118rc8 fixes it and now it works great   

It sounds like rock throwing drifters are now extremely lethal, and I was wondering if worldgen customization for Exploration Mode ("for players that do not enjoy combat") might have an optional  toggle to either disable drifters altogether, or at least disable rock throwing. Currently you can only disable drifters for the first few days, but they are relatively easy to ignore/avoid after that in past builds.....

Maybe clockmaker could get a compass that upgrades to show direction to base, time of day?  OR, a multitool that can be used as a knive/hammer/shovel/pick  and only uses one slot

Is there any rumors of when 1.16 is coming out? 

I am torn between starting a new game now, or waiting for 1.16 release. 

It would be nice if we had, in addition to Exploration/Creative/Survival, a Custom Presets worldgen category that simply remembered the last settings selected there.

I find cassava in the dry savannah lands. I know it is a south american plant but south america also has deserts. It might be in the rainforests as well.
