This is true, I have TONNES of iron but I am hurting for bronze!

I know this is an old thread but this point: What does making the helve hammer out of iron do differently?

Built a basic windmill, it has 8 sails (2 lots of sales). It's 4 blocks above my house level. The Windmill sail power is 40KN. This basic setup allows me to use a VERY SLOW helve hammer. I have two questions: Without adding more sails, how can I increase the speed of my helve hammer. I tried building the sail 8 more blocks higher and its SLOWER! How much power does a helve hammer need to be at it's max speed? I cannot really find numbers for power output vs power requirements. For example, my sail power is 40. Does that mean my generated power is 40? And how much of that 40 is used by my helve? Thanks

In the case where it's poor Borax (I found one of these), should i be digging down and searching?

Interesting, okay I will look around then. Yeah Chromite doesn't go higher than "Poor", which sucks.

I understand prospecting well, i have found copper, iron etc already. But I found a new iron reading in a new area and the best reading is "Decent". In all directions it eventually turns to nothing. Does that mean "Decent" is the best reading for this area? In the image, the red box is the best reading. All other readings get worse.

No mods about spawning but I do have the vanilla+ world gen mod. Maybe that effected things.

I built a house in the plains, far from any forest. For 15-20 real world hours in this world I didn't have a single wolf or bear spawn. Now, I have 12ish fully grown trees around my house. Walk outside to find 4 wolfs and 1 bear... Does tree planting create wolf spawns?

In my current world (20hrs in), I spawned into Peridotite rock. This rock is everywhere, over ground and underground. I have travelled thousands of blocks in all directions and still.... Peridotite or sand of the same type? How dows rock spawning work? I am trying to get to granite or any Sedimentary rock so I can find borax. Thanks

Hi all, first, this is an amazing game. Thank you for making it. I have read a number of posts that say drifters do not spawn in "well-lit" areas. But what does that actually mean? I just entered my first cave, put some touches down, then a drifter spawned exactly where i put toaches. So, toaches do not qualify as "well-lit"? Edit: its currently calm rift activity. I put one touch down in a corner. When i reloaded my game, two drifters are at the touch location. Thanks
