Poor lighting

Hello.
I had a brake (arround 2 months) from playing the game. And after some updates I noticed that there are some issues with lighting.
Torches gives almost no light, and many block (even in surface) are too dark. Exploring the caves is almost impossible because I see nothing.
I have set gamma setting to maximum, and it is still too dark.
The issue only exists in the darker places, surface looks fine.
Is that a lighting bug or something?
