Alrighty, thanks for the input y'all. I'll give it another shot looking for it, and I'll probably just cheat some in if I can't find any

Too long, won't read: Can blue clay still reasonably (within 10,000 blocks of home) be found in a world with default settings, or should I just go ahead with cheating some in? I've been playing for a couple of in game years now and have decided to improve my base with some colored clay bricks, so I looked up how to find blue clay to get black bricks. I saw a few posts saying it was in y levels of 99-110, so I re-explored the areas I'd been to, only to realize that the absolute lowest I've seen in my world is y 110 (not including underground or underwater). Then I saw that some people were saying it was easiest/easier to find near oceans but I haven't found an ocean after traveling thousands of blocks. Then I checked the default world settings and saw that the default settings cause the world to be 100% land. So, I'm admittedly kinda dumb and made a knot outta my thoughts and have confused myself. I'm wondering if the thousands of blocks I've traveled were just coincidentally all above y 110, or if the world generation is forcing that to be the case. Could be I'm misunderstanding world gen, could be I'm misunderstanding how blue clay spawns, it's a toss up in my head honestly. I'm sorta resolved to just cheat in a bunch of blue clay to build with, but I'm still uncertain if my understanding is completely correct so I thought I'd ask just in case I'm mistaken. Is it possible to find some blue clay (within a reasonable amount of travelling, let's say 10,000 blocks of where I'm based) and it really is just that rare, or should I proceed with my plan? I really don't want to cheat it in if it can be found, since travelling far to find resources can be pretty fun in a game like this. (Could be my world just sucks where I am lol)
