It worked the next day, ok for me

Hello,

I found the treasure hunter with the dialogue option “Know of any interesting places around here?”. I brought him the tin bronze pickaxe he asked for, and it seemed to work — he said he would give me the map.
However, I didn’t receive anything.

Now I only have the option “Could you remind me where the special ruin is?”, and he just says “Lost already…” — but I still have nothing in my inventory or on the map (and no message appears in the bottom-left text log).

Also, the trader didn’t take the tin bronze pickaxe.

Am I doing something wrong?
