Hey good news, the 1.21.1 update fixed this for me. If your friends are having the same problem I was, you all should try updating to this version and see if that helps. -

This was happening to me, and I'm playing version 1.21.0 on a mac. I found that it only happened if I started the tutorial while playing on a server. If I disconnected, reconnected, and didn't activate the tutorial, it didn't happen.
