  1. Glad I'm on the right track. I'll pack for a long trip and some basics to set up a temporary camp up north and go exploring. Got several cage traps, fences to corral them slightly hoping I can trap them in a large enough corral they can't escape from, slowly shrinking it till they only have a small area right next to the cages full of cabbage and turnips.
  2. Howdy Y'all. I've heard rumors that it is now possible to find, capture and tame wild elk? But how does this work exactly? I assume the use of reinforced crate traps are necessary, but would I have to release it into a pen and wait for it to grow (light? trough?) and then tame it? That would mean I'd need to pack enough for a small base and remember saddle and bridle. (I live way down in the tropics). Google and youtube has next to no information available on the subject, since it still assumes LORE requirements. Edit: I am in a world without any of the lore, so this is the only approach.
  3. I see I see. I wasn't sure how much this could be configured, but assumed some combination of map size and pole distance from the equator could force it. I'll ask over in the Modding subforum if no one can help here. Thanks for the help
  4. Hi Y'all. Pretty new player to the game with some world generation questions. I'm trying to avoid the repeating biomes aspect of VS, so I have an earthlike map with actual poles at either end of the north/south borders, instead of it getting cold, then hot again towards the end. Is this possible at all (with or without mods), if the game is fed the correct map generation settings? I really want to do a start where I travel on foot and mount from the very north pole to the south pole, taking from each environment I pass, surviving with whatever I can scavenge and refine using small, temporary homesteads. Something ala this. https://i.pinimg.com/564x/b2/2d/65/b22d6513c9ab215076b43abae105eb07.jpg
